(from Google)Very nice beach. Parking is a bit challenging and quite spendy but that is just a thing of the times.
My favorite beach in Charleston. It just has a special vibe too it like no other. Amazing sunsets, and an all around great time. Must visit Bert's Market when you're here!
There's so much of folly beach to see.It would take an entire weekend! There was a park at the other end of the island is the lighthouse in driftwood and a part of the beach with beautiful white sand that's excellent for portraits. But before you get to the lighthouse there's a boardwalk with restaurants fishing pier gift shops.
Went Labor Day weekend, on Friday afternoon/evening. It was absolutely empty, parking across the street only cost $10. The water was so lovingly warm, the sand soft. Beautiful sunset! And the strip was live enough to enjoy and take in without feeling overwhelmingly crowded. Tried to come back Sunday of Labor Day weekend, completely packed beach (duh).
This beach is AMAZING! Nothing like the chaotic Myrtle, ocean City, Virginia beach type of beaches. We've been coming here for year's at least 15 yrs! A hidden gem! So peaceful. Classic little beach town. Love there's not a ton of hotel's lining the coast which I feel keeps the high traffic away, it's 99% home's. As far as I know, there is 1 hotel and a few condos. Then again, most of the Charleston beaches are that way anyway. The houses are pricey BUT well worth it!!
