(from Google)Stunning beach with turquoise waters; the perfect way to spend a sunny day!
Beautiful beach, but today there were jet skis entering directly into the swimming area where families and children were in the water. It felt unsafe and uncomfortable, especially because it appeared to be prohibited. I hope safety rules are enforced more consistently to protect swimmers and preserve the peaceful atmosphere of the beach.
We went on the other side of North Beach at Fort De Soto Park. We thought there would be less of a crowd. As soon as we got there, it was just a few tiny coves. The water was beautiful, but people were everywhere playing loud music, smoking weed, on jet skis, on boats. We noticed that people started leaving around 2:30pm, so next time, instead of getting there at 12:30, we’ll go later. These pics were after people started leaving.
We visited this beach on a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. The sand was incredibly soft and the beach was very clean. The water was crystal clear and we even spotted some crabs while snorkeling. Although we didn't see the small sharks that others reported, we still had an amazing time. The beach wasn't crowded at all and we highly recommend checking it out.
We spent a few hours over at north beach on the Fort De Soto State Park. Wow! Only $6 to park for the entire day. Hundreds of parking spaces and plenty of open ones. Bathrooms all over in every direction and very clean beachs and beautiful blue green waters! Tons of birds and fish and even dolphins. We also toured the old fort and wondered around one of the fishing piers. 10/10 would recommend
