The Muddy Root Kava Cafe

I used to love this place. Was a regular for two years going 5-6 times a week. However, the unknowingly disclosed price hikes have deterred me along with the employee turn over rate per the alleged unruly treatment by management/owners in front of customers, I can’t continue a business relationship with the establishment. Everyone in this community especially the employees deserve basic respect. I’ve since found other places of business that actually care about keeping their regulars along with their employees happy.

I discovered this place a few months ago, and I really love the vibe. The music, lighting, and atmosphere make it such a great spot to work or just hang out. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming , special shoutout to Ben, Polly, and Kai. The place is clean, pet friendly, and I bring my service dog with me. I always end up meeting other good dogs there too. They also have different events throughout the week, and their kava and kratom are some of my favorites, definitely some of the best quality I’ve found compared to other kava bars like this. One of the best kava spots in the area.

I’ve been coming to the Clearwater location for years. I’ve been a daily regular and a member of the community here since my first day. Lately the owner has implemented drastic changes that have affected the regulars who spend their disposable income here. From the no outside food policy while only serving pastries, to severely high price hikes, amongst other drastic changes. I no longer feel comfortable recommending this place to other kava tenders or community members from other coffee and kava spots. Your staff is amazing, attentive, you need to correct course. Your staff and community deserves way better than this.

I needed an espresso so I saw this place. I liked the name so I said let me try it. It was early afternoon and there werent many people. Great atmosphere though. Very inviting and no corporate feel to it. The young lady took and made my espresso. When I was done she asked me how it was. I said 9 out of 10 as I never give 10's. It was a quick trip for me and I wish the location was a little better. I dont know if there's parking in the back. I see myself going back again

Excellent vibe and great prices on drinks. Ben was super helpful and a cool dude. If we lived on this side of the bay, this would be spot! Highly recommend to anyone !
