We stopped in around 9 PM on a Friday as a last resort after finding most other bars packed. There was some seating available, and at first glance the place looked promising. The aesthetics were there, but the atmosphere did not match. The music was loud to the point where you could not hear the person next to you, and the EDM playlist felt out of place for the setting. I ordered cheese fries and was told they would be brought out. After waiting about 25 minutes, we had to go back up to the bar to ask about them. The staff had no idea where the order went, so we ended up waiting even longer. When the fries finally came, they were underwhelming. They tasted like stale crinkle cut fries with a small amount of shredded cheese. At $3, I was not expecting anything impressive, but the issue was more about the long wait and the lack of acknowledgment or apology from the staff. The cocktails were fine, but nothing memorable. Even the beer service was disappointing. The bartender poured it straight into the glass instead of at an angle, which was surprising. Overall, the experience felt disappointing. The crowd leaned heavily toward people in their 20s and early 30s, which may appeal to some, but there was nothing that made this place stand out. Between the atmosphere and the service, it missed the mark. Honestly, I would have rather stayed home and had a can of beer.

We popped in to Monkey’s Bar for a cocktail on Sunday afternoon during Big Ears. What a treat. Really interesting cocktails. I had the Go Go Juice. It was amazing. Like a pina colada with tequila. Light, refreshing and delicious. We also had the Just in Thyme. So good. Super flavorful and complex. Cat, our bartender was very friendly and informative on all of the cocktails. Do yourself a favor and pop in! The frito Pie will be on our list for next time.

My husband and I go to this bar at least once or twice a month and we love it so much that we had our wedding reception there! Elle is so incredibly kind and helpful with setting up our wedding! All of the bartenders are so personable and friendly, incredibly hard to come by these days! Thank you to everyone at Monkey’s for hosting our wedding reception and for always welcoming us with open arms!

If you’re looking for a bar that feels like home—with or without your pup—this is the place. Not only is it dog-friendly but the bartenders are absolute legends. Friendly, fast, and they actually know their stuff when it comes to cocktails. Large mocktail menu that makes you feel like you’re not missing out on a cocktail. The vibe is laid-back, inclusive, welcoming, and just the right amount of lively. Whether you’re popping in for a quick drink or staying for the night, you’re in good hands here. Highly recommend! If you’re lucky you’ll meet Mr.Monkey himself but warning he will get you with the puppy dog eyes.

Cozy establishment with nice red brick walls, which really add some nice ambience. Drinks were great - highly recommend "Oaxacan on Sunshine!" I didn't eat, so I can't vouch for their food. Staff were attentive. Bonus: a beautiful golden retriever doggie was hanging around inside while I was there :)
