If I could give this place a six, I would! Old Florida charm with the best fresh fish in the area. I started with the combo chowder which was simply delicious. The Blackened Tile fish was prepared perfectly and melted in my mouth. My wife had the pina colada Mahi which she absolutely loved. Indulged in a slice of their cherry white chocolate cheesecake which was sooooo good. Always been one of my favorite places. Glad the bridge is finished so we can make it out more often!!!

Blue Dog Bar and Grill gets an easy five stars from us. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent across the board. I ordered the blackened grouper, and it was fantastic. Perfectly cooked, nicely seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Clam chowder was delicious, but if you don't like bacon, you won't like it (I love bacon, so I loved it). My dad ordered the burger, and it looked so good I was having a little food envy from across the table. My only minor suggestion is for the vegetable medley. I was trying to be healthy and ordered the squash and zucchini, but it arrived swimming in enough butter to lubricate the engine room of the Enterprise. It was tasty, but if you're watching calories, a simple steamed vegetable option would be a great addition to the menu. Other than that, no complaints at all. Great service, great food, and a very enjoyable meal. We'll definitely be back.

The family was searching for a staple restaurant of Matlacha, FL. We landed in Blue Dog bar and grill. The atmosphere was local and friendly. The food smelled and tasted delicious. The restaurant was slam packed but running very smooth. Overall, great little spot for dinner. Grilled blackened Mahi and Fried Hogfish was our dinner.

Absolutely THE best Shrimp Tacos I've ever had! Upon the recommendation of our waiterres Nancy, I went with the Shrimp Tacos and Fries and Terri ordered up a favorite of hers, a Patty Melt. I figured I'd just get a little something to tide me over until supper time and these would probably just be the usual small Shrimp Tacos one can get anywhere.... Wow! Was I wrong...this is one of the best meals I've ever had! The shrimps were huge and tasted like no other Shrimp I'd ever had before! And as you can see by the picture, they were huge and the tacos were stuffed full with them. They were so good I tried to get Terri to take a bite of one but she missed out. The mango sauce added to the flavor but these Shrimp could have run solo and they'd have been a homerun on their own. Not to ignore the excellent Patty Melt which was thick and juicy in it's own right Terri rated it in her Top 5. The French Fries were worthy of mentioning also as they have a crispy batter coating that kept you coming back for more even after I'd pushed the plate away...they gotta be Crack Fries or something! Both meals were under 20 bucks too...you can't beat that! Definitely in my Top Five of places we've been to in Florida over the years.

Fun place to visit. Great bucket list location. Food was 80% good, but didn’t knock my socks off. We got several apps to share. Conch wars chewier than other places that serves conch. Our server was great. He came quickly and often. He knew a lot about the food. The wait was long. We were told it was going to be about 45 min, but turned into 70-75 min instead min. Recommend going early. She-crab soup was by far the best! Amazing flavors.
