THAT BBQ PLACE

Delicious! Brisket and pulled pork were on point. Melt in your mouth kind of good. The kind that doesn't need bbq sauce. Tangy sweet coleslaw that was amazing and I am picky about my coleslaw. Highly recommend!

If you have not tried this hidden gem for some great BBQ, you are missing out. Their staff was very welcoming and friendly. Now to the food. St. Louis style ribs were amazing. The brisket was good as well was expect it to be more juicy and tender but it was still good. Potato salad and coleslaw were both great very sweet and savory. If you are not paying attention you will pass right by this small quaint place and its well worth the drive to Matlacha. We will definitely return for more.

This place is fantastic and John was so friendly and just a great guy. I wish I lived closer and could go here daily. We got brisket and beef ribs, potato salad and bbq baked beans. Go here if you are in the area!!

Ended up with 3 stars cause I liked everything about the place except the food it self. Just a nice little Island shack with a super friendly guy manning the gril and serving the customers. I think that is the main reason the ratings are fairly high. We had brisket, a burger and bbq chicken. The bbq chicken had weird texture and just didn’t taste that good. The brisket was also a bit dryish so was the burger. The beans tasted like they were heated in pure bbq sauce so that was a bit too rich. Greens were also too mushy. Maybe I should have said something then and there but he was just working hard doing what he probably loves. Guess I didn’t want to be confrontational. Anyway try for your self.

BBQ was quite good! Meats had a lot of smoke. Sides were pretty good. Brisket was done very well with a nice smoke ring. Passed the pull test. Got some point and some flat in my slices. Pulled pork was also done well, tender and not over-cooked. Beans were decent, probably doctored from a can but with meat chunks interspersed. Slaw was good -- crunchy and fresh. Mashed potatoes were also pretty good, but had a lot of raw garlic. All in all, I'd definitely go back. Owner knows what he's doing! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5
