Dover District Park

Nice playground for young kids 2-5. Fishing was a disappointment. About 50% of the lake was covered in lettuce which made it difficult to cast to find openings to fish. It had a nice walking trail and lots of birds and wildlife

Peaceful and clean area to walk alone as well as groups.

Nice pond with a walking path around it, fun birds to look at. All restrooms with indoor plumbing are owned by the Boys and Girls club and the public are not allows to use the. The public is only permitted to use Portapotties and mine didn't have toilet paper.

The water is a lovely feature, especially in the morning. So many different birds. Benches surrounding it are nice for a rest and nature watching. Seen people fishing on more than one occasion. I have seen 1 gator.

This park was a pleasant surprise. I visited it as I was participating in the Hillsborough County Hiking Spree. Typically, there's not much of a hike involved in a neighborhood park, but this one was different. There is a beautiful paved trail that encircles a large pond filled with wildlife. Turtles, wading birds, osprey, squirrels, and (I'm told) a pretty large alligator, but I did not see it. Beyond the trail, the park was busy with activity - two basketball games, picnicing, children on swings, joggers, and people fishing. What a great asset for the Dover community... and it looks like they appreciate it!
