(from Google)so cute!!! there’s a bunch of abandoned stuff on the side of the trail so you can pretend that you’re sightseeing and walking through history. the wooden paneled parts of the trail are well-maintained and very much appreciated. everyone should go here
Good hiking spot, perfect for walking a dog. Is nice and quiet there.
If you like to hike and enjoy nature, this will be the place for you. I enjoy coming here for the nature and how quite it is. The trail brings you through a very large dense forest. The state just built a bridge in the woods that is very nice and well made. There are spots that could be muddy, but the trails are maintained very well! Parking is fine, easy access to trail. You can spend a few hours in the woods if you know what trail to take. Dog friendly. I highly recommended this hiking trail.
Started here at the Memorial Park but then I hiked up to higby Mountain which was such a nice hike up. I found 11 ticks on my dog when I got back they were baby ticks it is a nice hike though through the woods very Rocky at times so wear proper shoes. At the top when you get a nice view directly to the left of the viewpoint there is a short narrow path that will lead you to the plane crash site from 1954 the remains of the metal aircraft are still in the woods. It was such a cool find because I didn't realize that these parts were still up there you have to go off trail just a tad bit to get to the remains of the aircraft. Definitely bring bug spray to protect yourself from ticks.
Nice hiking trails! If you take this trail all the way out you will reach higby Mountain! It’s a beautiful hike with lots of wildlife throughout the area. Cute bridges and a clean walking path. First time I ever took a hike here and was very pleased! I saw beautiful white tailed deer. There is also plenty of streams for your dog to cool off in!
