I dropped in with my elderly dog and the helpful salesclerk escorted me to the grooming station. They gladly set me up with an immediate appointment and called my veterinarian to verify vaccinations. They also texted my phone, so I’d have their number for next time to set up an appointment on a busy day. Quick, helpful, considerate—I’ll be back. Up

I’ve been taking my dogs to Petco for 15+ years and have had little to no issues in that time. Until recently, the last three times I’ve taken my dogs to Petco, the groomers have butchered their haircuts. I have a sheepadoodle and two bernedoodles. One lady gave one bernedoodle a lions tale cut, shave their ears completely and tail other than a puff at the end. The most recent, Sebastian at the south Tigard location not only had the nerve to charge us extra for a dematting service, but in the end still shaved my entire dog. Face, head, ears and tail… I’ve never once in my life had someone send my doodle back with a shaved snout. And then to have the nerve to charge us extra!!! 15+ years of loyalty and this is how they treat loyal customers…

I had used Joe for Grooming for eight grooms and he was wonderful. However he left Petco and I was referred to Kinny. my little dog ended up with a limp. His skin was a braised in a number of places that will take a while to heal if I could give her a zero star I would so disappointed so very disappointed. I don’t know what’s causing the limp. I have to take him to the vet to find out. I was hoping that it would heal itself in a day or so it is somewhat better, but not totally gone. The abraded skin is still appraised. I will not be going back to Petco. Don’t book with Kinny! I’ve read good things about Sara on here and good things about Bea So they may be good, but I’m afraid now of using anyone at Petco too bad Joe left really too bad. Because my next groom was supposed to be free, which would’ve been nice, but I’m terrified of using anybody there now!. ……. So after I posted this review I got an extremely nasty phone call from Sara the manager of the Grooming department. She was extremely upset that I dared post a less than positive review about their Grooming at Petco. She would not even give me a chance to speak. She was loud, abusive and said I should have called her rather than posting a review. She spoke of some video and accused me of saying that the Grooming caused my dog’s limp. I hope I made it clear that I wasn’t sure that the Grooming had anything to do with his limp. It was an on and off thing he had occasionally after the grooming, but not consistently. Since the Grooming, I have taken him to the vet and it seems as though he had some kind of strained muscle. I still do not know that it had anything to do with the Grooming and I’m not accusing Petco of that. He did have a lot of abrasions on his skin where clearly what they did as they were. Grooming is come very close in his skin, and there were some abrasions on his skin from clipping too close. The abrasions on his skin have nothing to do with the halter he was wearing. I had to cancel a few appointments until some small irritations from his halter healed. That was totally healed before I brought him in for Grooming. The abrasions that were made by the groomer were nowhere near where his halter was, they were down on his back legs they were in between his legs in the back nothing to do with where his halter would be, but Sara wasn’t about to give me a chance to say anything. She just continue to talk loudly and wasn’t about to hear anything. I had to say. Definitely not customer service oriented. She wanted to hear nothing I had to say she just wanted to tell me over and over how they were not about to see my dog for Grooming again! Which was fine because I had no intention of bringing my dog back in there for Grooming, but I did think it was important for her to listen to what I had to say, but that was not about to happen. I do intend to call their corporate office, not that that will do any good, but I intend to do it anyway because it’s not at all the way I would expect a company as large as Petco to have their people talk to a customer. I hope other others don’t have the kind of service that I received today from somebody that is supposed to be a professional.

Bee is an exceptional groomer. She's very knowledgable, caring & compassionate. She knows how to groom a long-haired dog, even with some bad matting. She goes the extra mile. I was quite anxious setting up an appointment after reading some posted reviews. But I saw one about Joe that was great. After speaking to him, he wasn't available but highly recommended Bee. He was right. This was a very positive experience for me, an anxious Momma. I even got some coupons for food & ice cream :) Thank you all!
