Brewed Awakenings Craft Cuban Cafe

upon arrival, i recognized the mixologist behind the bar and i knew i was in for a treat. this place is something special. the dichotomy between coffee and cocktails crosses into this beautiful mess of flavors. chris, was super polite and it’s abundantly clear his palate is refined. the electric lemonade is so remnant of some of my favorite tiki cocktails, and truly made my day. an awesome coffee mocktail that makes you realize nobody needs a non alcoholic spirit to make something special. a special cheers to brewed awakenings! took me back to my cocktail scene days and doing shots of fernet.

We got the “oat your heart out” and a “matcha made in heaven”. Both were fantastic. This is a cocktail style coffee shop. An experience with a fantastic twist on coffee.

My husband and I finally made it over to Brewed Awakening this morning to see all the buzz was about! We first met the owner, Chris, when he spent his mornings volunteering with us at The Portico, helping serve breakfast to our neighbors in need. He had mentioned his Cuban Cold Brew shop and all the unique flavors he craftsmanship, and I knew we had to stop by. Now, I'll be honest- I'm a bit of a coffee purist. Usually, I stick to milk and sugar, or maybe a mocha or cappuccino if I'm feeling adventurous. But today, I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered 'OAT YOUR HEART OUT " with cinnamon and banana bread flavors. Oh my goodness...it was out of this world! Watching Chris prepare the coffee is like watching pure alchemist action. My husband went for the same base but with mint rose flavor, and he absolutely love it. While we were there, Chris treated us to a sample of his Electric Lemonade- fresh squeezed Lemonade with a shot of Cubanito cold brew. I'm usually so hesitant about mixing fruit and coffee ( in my head, they just don't go together), but I couldn't have been more wrong. It was incredibly delicious and so refreshing! I challenge you to give it a try. Chris is truly a sweetheart, and his passion for his craft shines through in every single sip. 5 STARS!!!

Lovely spot for artisanal coffee. Don’t sleep on the electric lemonade, it’s has a delightful and unexpected flavor profile. The owner took time to explain each drink and his passion shines through.

Chris is an angel on earth! I went in struggling so badly from pregnancy, nausea and asked what he would recommend. He made me the Cuban coffee lemonade…. One of the most unique drinks I’ve ever had, I could drink this thing every day. It is so fresh and delicious. I was telling him how citrus makes my stomach feel better. He then proceeded to cut me up an orange and put it in a cup for me to take to go. Such a beautiful soul!
