A nice trail that goes along Lake Townsend. It’s a nice easy trail, has some roots and a wet area. A little over 2 miles out and back. Great views of the Lake.
It was a nice stretch of about 4 miles. Some moderate hills along the way. Lots of beautiful nature without the nearby reminder of human encroachment by wealthy homes within sight like some of the connecting trails.
very nice trail. I came with my dog. We ran some of the trail. Definitely plan on coming back. I enjoy exploring the different trials around NC.
I introduced my 5 year old to hiking. She enjoyed it for the most part. We started at after 6pm, so it was near dusk when we finished. There were a few sections that frightened her due to down trees and dark areas, but there were more areas that she enjoyed.
