(from Google)This place is awesome. One way after ran its still walkable. Will be a little water at one spot but it is passable by block of wood on the side path. Beautiful blend of forest with lake view and lake bank access. Can hardly hear any cars. i’ll go back again. Paths are wide in places so plenty of room for passing by others. I met two runners and neither of us had to get off of the trailer.
Nice trail, it's easy to walk in it and it go beautiful view to the lake
Easy trail for hike or trail running. Groomed well, water crossings are all bridged. Few gnats, 1 blacksnake, few people, couple of dogs on leashes, 90% shade, not muddy but might be more on rainy day, adequate parking. Good views of lake. A few logs to sit on. Many mushroom types, some flowers, birds and butterfly.
This moderately challenging hike should be considered for an afternoon's ramble. There are different things to see at all times of year, but the meadow under the power lines attracts all sorts of pollinators for butterfly hunters in late summer. You can also connect with the Townsend trail very easily, so you have a lot of choices when you park in the gravel lot off the road(safe).
This was a pleasant surprise, an absolutely beautiful set of trails near a lake. It is all very well kept and maintained. My family and I had a great time walking the wooded trails.
