(from Google)We always enjoy about a 4 mile walk on the Empire State trail along the Erie Canal here. This park is well kept, always clean, restrooms are perfect and open year round. Nice boat ramp with plenty of parking ( including trailer slots). Many picnic tables and park benches. Bikers, there is a repair stand with tools and tire inflator. This section is 90% off the road between Sweethome Road and Hi Way Nursery on Tonawanda Creek Rd.
Amherst should be ashamed on the bathrooms in this park. You could smell the bathrooms as soon as you walked in the building. The ladies room the one stall someone pooped and it was all over the toilet. The other stall would have been useable if it had toilet paper in it. Trash can overflowing. I went in the men’s bathroom and it was a little better. You could tell neither bathroom had been cleaned in a very long time. I’ve been in outhouses that were cleaner than these bathrooms.
This small park is a hidden local gem. Great bike trails run through. Great entry for kayaking or boating. We walk out dogs often.
Nice little park. It has a boat launch and longer parking spaces for trailers. Also two docks for fishing. A few picnic tables. We typically ride our bikes to here when looking for a quick ride. Nice quiet spot to take a break. They also have a large building with bathrooms. The Amherst Senior Center recently had a nice picnic here
Small quiet little park along the Erie Canal complete with a boat launch, kayak launch and fishing docks. Men's and women's bathrooms are very clean and open from open til close. Picknick benches with grills are available. The bike path that runs along the canal run through it as well.
