(from Google)Our pets are our family and the staff here treated our Rott mix baby like she was just as important to them. From our first visit to review options for our dog's torn CCL to aftercare instructions, medicine distribution, and follow-up, we have had a top notch experience. Sandy, Dr. Wilkens, and all of the behind the scenes staff took fantastic care of our fur baby and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking at pet surgery or emergency pet care.
Have small pup with CCL and patella issue. All the doctors out there constantly tell us that our 14lb puppy need surgery and over quoting the situation. Came to DVSC and the vet was BEST in last 6 years I have gotten since my dog snoopy. She was extremely knowledgeable and said she would never recommend things unless necessary. She encouraged conservative approach and said small dogs can grow their “fiber” back. Need to giving him glucosamine, water swim therapy in our tub and things will slowly and steadily be back in shape. Felt so positive that they are recommending not what’s best money for DVSC but what’s best for my dogs health.
We had to take our cat in for surgery and everyone was so nice and helpful, explaining everything that needed to be done in detail and patiently explained anything we were confused/worried about. As we come from out of town, a few hours away, they did their best to make sure we could take her home the same day so we wouldn't have to make an extra trip to pick her up and she's doing great now. The whole situation could have been stressful, but everyone did their best to make sure it wasn't and we are just so very thankful for everything they did.
Dr. Wilkens and his team are amazing! We have needed MPL surgery for our pup on both hind legs due to a birth defect, and we were so happy with the first surgery that there was no way we couldn’t return for the second. Really, really appreciated them getting us in as quickly as possible and having us on the schedule for surgery on the same day as the consult so that we didn’t have to travel in from out of town twice. Everyone we interacted with, from desk staff to vet techs, were extremely kind and professional. They connected us with an amazing rehab team (North Texas Animal Rehabilitation) as well, which has been game-changing for our pup’s recovery. They also worked with Pumpkin, our pet insurance provider. Worth the two hour drive to get the best care!
So very pleased with my experience with the DVSC!! My little dog Cricket got diagnosed with Luxating Patella in his right leg in June- he was unable to enjoy even a short walk without his poor knee slipping out of its socket. He had surgery July 7, so it’s been 2 months now and I couldn’t be happier with the results!! Dr. Reaugh was amazing, answered all of my questions, and of course, gave my dog is ability to walk normally back to him. I also have to thank all the vet techs and everyone at the front desk for their friendliness!! I drove myself crazy these two months convincing myself that I’d messed his recovery up in all sorts of ways, and nobody ever made me feel dumb (which, admittedly, I was being at times) for all of the times I called with my many questions!
