Dr. Bob Irelan's Veterinary Services

I had to wait a few days to cool down before writing this review. 0/10 experience with this practice. Ivy’Ana Patrice is ALIVE AND WELL with no thanks to them :) Main point: Incompetent and apathetic staff. Brought my dog in because she was vomiting and having trouble using the bathroom. Like most vets, they wanted payment before treating her. FINE. They do an X-ray and tell me that she has a lithium battery in her stomach and she will need surgery. OKAY. We are struggling to scrape together enough money for this surgery and come up short. Maybe 2 of the vet techs were kind enough to offer any kind of solution or just be sympathetic. It was after hours and you could tell they really wanted us to go but I get it - work is a lot. But to say plainly say that we can bring her back in the morning "if she makes it" is disgustingly rude. Back to it…Unfortunately we can’t afford the surgery and we are looking for alternatives. By the way, her symptoms weren’t adding up to having eaten a lithium battery….but we will get there. I was distraught and not thinking straight. Anyway we take her home to discuss options because it’s after hours and we find another emergency vet who is willing to see her and doesn’t immediately bring up payment. This AMAZING VET determined from the X-ray taken at Dr. Bob Irelan’s that my dog actually ate a few coins. She was CONFUSED as to why we were told that it was a lithium battery. They offered the LEAST INVASIVE OPTION FIRST and were incredibly kind and understanding. She was able to vomit the 2 coins up and we paid less than $800 for the full treatment including x-ray and fluids. We were quoted over $7000 for an unnecessary procedure at Dr. Bob Irelan’s.

I came in on Good Friday with no appointment. His office was packed but they said I could have a walk in appointment. Everyone was super friendly and staff.Got together and bought me lunch. The doctor's assistance were all very nice and very helpful with Banger. They had all the medications in-house and ours was a veterinary patient care , well done. Needless to say banger has recovered. Thank you so much doctor Bob!

The front staff and vet tech are nice but may be overworked. Overall, I felt dismissed and that I was a bother. The wait time was just over 40 minutes but perhaps it was just an uncommon morning. One hour and 10 minutes in total time. It ended up over stressing my dog which then stressed me too. Tech had asked me the same questions found in the form I had just filled out. Maybe just a miscommunication between front desk and vet tech. Doctor was thorough and kind. 💝 Health Certificate for flight was just under $80. I am THANKFUL but I suppose I was too hopeful with their reviews, I had just expected too much.

I am just trying this location out, and so far, so good. There were a few downsides that I wasn’t too pleased with, but overall I had a great experience—far more positives than negatives. It was good enough that I will continue to see how things go. I will say that the veterinarian had a lot of experience and provided valuable knowledge regarding my dog’s health.

I took one of my cats with symptoms like "rabies" and all they did was shave one of her front legs and put an IV. They call Animal Control because the rabies but there's nothing like that. They make us go to hospital and have some shots. Hospitals told us that there's no rabies if the cat drinks and eat normally. As soon we got home, cat was fine. They charged a lot of money for nothing.
