We are beyond grateful to Shelby and her amazing work with our 11-month-old Golden Retriever. We did the 10-day board and train, and our life with Bonnie has drastically changed since then! Bonnie used to get extremely excited in outdoor settings and when meeting new people, which led to pulling on the leash and trying to jump on every stranger she came across. She would also try to eat anything and everything during walks, which made the whole experience very stressful. During the time she was with Shelby, we received daily updates, photos, and videos, along with instructions on how to continue the training at home. On pick-up day, Shelby spent so much time walking us through all the exercises, but most importantly explaining how to better understand our dog’s brain and behavior. Shelby has also been super responsive after the training, answering follow up questions now that Bonnie is at home. Our relationship with our dog has improved so much, and we’re now having so much fun exploring the outdoors—coffee shops, walks—without any chaos. Bonnie gets to see the world with us and we are all so happy we can do that together! We are so excited for the journey ahead and for joining the pack walks! We’re so glad we found Shelby. Her love and dedication to dogs is truly evident.

Shelby was absolutely incredible with our dog Mac. Before working with her, Mac was extremely reactive to other dogs. It had gotten so bad that we honestly weren’t able to walk him for years because of how intense his reactions were. Walks had become stressful and anxiety-inducing for everyone involved, including Mac. After Shelby’s 10-day board and train, he’s like a completely different dog. He can now walk calmly on a loose leash and be around other dogs without the explosive reactivity we struggled with for so long. Being able to take him on normal walks again has been a huge relief, not just for us but for him too. You can tell he’s so much calmer and more confident. One thing that really stood out during the entire process was Shelby’s communication. She sent updates, photos, and videos showing exactly what they were working on and the progress Mac was making. It was incredibly reassuring to see the training in action and understand the techniques she was using. At the end of the program, Shelby didn’t just hand Mac back to us and send us on our way. She spent a lot of time thoroughly training us on everything he had learned and showing us how to continue reinforcing the training at home so we can keep building on the progress. Mac is calmer, more focused, and genuinely happier now. Shelby clearly cares deeply about the dogs she works with and puts an incredible amount of effort into both the training and keeping owners involved in the process. We’re extremely grateful for what she did for Mac and can’t recommend her enough.

Sending my dog, Brady, away for training was a big emotional leap, but Shelby made the entire experience feel safe and thoughtful from the very beginning. She took the time to explain the psychology behind Brady’s behaviors and tailored the training specifically to his breed and personality — nothing about her approach is one-size-fits-all. I felt informed, supported, and confident in my decision before training even began. Shelby engages with you the whole time by sending photos and videos. He came home the same dog, but with the tools to manage what used to be challenges. It’s not Brady that got trained, I too walked away equipped to handle things that used to be stressful. Most importantly, Brady absolutely adores her. Seeing how excited he still gets every time he sees Shelby reassures me that he wasn’t just trained — he was truly loved, safe, and cared for while he was with her. I cannot say enough good things about this dog training business. Shelby quite literally improved my dog’s behavior in ONE DAY, I was blown away. We put our 5 year old Rottweiler in the 10 Day board + train, and his results are amazing! All of our concerns were addressed. Our dog used to pull while on leash and get easily distracted or reactive to his surroundings. Now, he walks right next to us, knows his commands, and has shown amazing improvement in obedience. We were out of town during his board + training, and Shelby sent us regular updates, photos and videos of our pup, which we loved! We are so excited to bring our pup to the group trainings Shelby offers to her trained dogs throughout the Tampa area - another amazing service Kyser offers! Shelby’s passion and skill for dog training is evident, and we could not have selected a better trainer. She made us feel comfortable through the entire process, and made sure we understood how to best continue his training after his time at Kyser ended. While picking up our dog, she took the time to teach us and help us practice things like walking him, showing him “place” and telling us her tailored advice for our dog’s behavior.
