(from Google)I was adopted by a new kitten from the big live oak hospital. I’m closer to the south so I began taking him there. They have been so wonderful. I am an anxious cat mom. One of the vets took the time to explain how long it takes for kittens to adjust to a new home, about what to, and what not to feed him. She really set my mind at ease. They did not charge me for this. I have had great experiences with all the staff I have had interactions with.
Good Day !!! I wanted to share my gratitude for Live Oak South, the amazing Vet in Dr. Sutherland and the amazing Angels being your staff. I am not from Texas, my home is in Philadelphia and I don’t know many hear in Lubbock - but you all have treated Linc and I with the kindest heart and care. With that said the one thing that means everything to me in my Dog Lincoln. I got Linc when he was 7 weeks old and he has been with me while I been battling my health and has traveled with me. When I came to Lubbock for treatments I was fearful that I would not find a Vet that matched his first and only Vet. Dr. Sutherland and your amazing Angels (Staff) have truly exceeded that by far. The care, the compassion and the overall support you provide Linc and myself is unmatched and I will never be able to thank you. From coming to my truck to get Linc for appointments to the mobile visits to allow Linc to board with y’all while I have a number of extended hospital stays is truly an act of kindness that I will never be able to thank you enough. From the calls asking questions and not fully understanding due to what the medication I take has done to my thinking and understanding at time - I truly apologize for the many calls. I am truly grateful and indebted to your amazing team. If I ever regain my mobility and health back I will do whatever I can to ensure that I repay your kindness ten fold. In closing, thank you very much for everything you all have done for Linc and I. God Bless You All…!!!! Chris and Linc
I was looking for a new vet in my area and I got to thinking how much I miss Live Oak South. Specifically Dr. Wolf and Dr. Chattin. At one point I had four furr babies that were being seen here by both Dr. Wolf and Dr. Chattin. I saw a couple other vets at this location but was not impressed. (Not bad just not impressed, I'm picky). All of the staff was always friendly. Dr. Wolf was my favorite. She is so knowledgeable, sweet to my babies and I loved when she would think out loud with me. I personally loved this because it let me know she was thinking of all of the possibilities when it came to my sick babies. Although it helps that I have a medical background she still answered all my questions. I always felt informed and like I was making the best decisions based on her thorough assessments. When it came time to let two of our babies rest (just 5months apart) I felt so at peace knowing it would be Dr. Wolf who would take care of us. Dr. Chattin also took care of my babies. He neutered one of my cats, removed a small toe tumor from my dog and gave us another dogs diagnosis of prostate cancer. Everytime, he was kind, informative, patient, tactful in delivery and just all around professional. I highly recommend both of them for your furry best friends! Thank you for taking care of my mine!
DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC WITH YOUR PET!! I took my dog in for her annual checkup, during which I was told her heartworm test came back positive. The information was presented in a very alarming way, and I was given treatment options that felt rushed and uncertain. I was extremely emotional at the time and felt pressured to move forward with medication and begin treatment immediately. I left the appointment feeling overwhelmed and with more questions than answers. Because something didn’t feel right, I decided to seek a second opinion from another veterinary clinic. They ran both an in-house test and sent a sample to an out-of-state lab. Thankfully, both tests came back negative. This was surprising and frustrating, as it showed additional testing could have been done to confirm the diagnosis before starting the heartworm treatment that I paid for. The second veterinarian also explained that the treatment plan I had been told about previously by veterinary Christian Resendez was not entirely accurate, which added to my stress. When I returned to inform Live Oak that my dog did not have heartworms, they did refund the medication, which I appreciated. However, I did not receive any acknowledgment or apology from the veterinary Christian Resendez for the stress caused by his misdiagnosis. This whole situation was emotionally taxing for me and could have been avoided with more thorough testing and clearer communication from the beginning of the process.
Well we arrived to a nice modern facility. The staff was very friendly. Prices were manageable and seemed fair. The Veterinarian was very knowledgeable. Dr.Wolf took the time to explain different paths we may take . She explained possible outcomes. She was very detailed in her explanations. Also she was very happy to answer any questions about all aspects of the visit. We got a clear picture of what to expect from the current situation to our desired point of health. Medication, it's use and proper administration was explained very clearly. This visit was approximately an hour and a half. This was for a new patient visit. So we feel this period was timely and expected. Our cat had a procedure at another facility and was exhibiting concerning signs (not associated with the procedure). Since the previous facility wasn't a full service Vet. Live Oak Animal Hospital South was able to get our Mekal in quickly. We were very happy with our experience and highly recommend them.
