(from Google)Love this place and the staff. Great Vet who doesn’t try to sell you more than you need and the prices are better than many other places.
Our family has trusted Richmond Veterinary Hospital with the care of our pets for over 30 years. However, our recent experience with the veterinarian has raised serious concerns. Just over a year ago, our Labrador was diagnosed with a flea infestation. The prescribed flea medication seemed to have severe side effects, leading to urinary incontinence and a tumor around her neck, which ultimately resulted in her euthanasia. A few days ago, our newly adopted Poodle developed a red eye condition that the doctor diagnosed and recommended a $1,200 surgery. Surprisingly, her eye condition resolved on its own by the next morning. During that visit, the doctor also noticed fleas but did not provide a prescription. When we later requested a topical flea solution from Chewy, he declined our request. I generally prefer not to write negative reviews for businesses online. However, I feel that staying silent about the carelessness of this veterinarian would not benefit our community or our pets.
Dr. Kwon focuses on your pet, period. He’s caring, professional and very experienced. Our little (14 yo ?- rescue) Bichon has kidney disease, which Dr. Kwon caught early. As it progresses, Dr. Kwon prescribes effective meds that improve our little guy’s quality of life. Nearly three years later, we’re very grateful for the care and experience that’s allowed us to keep Ray comfortable and living his best life. In addition, the pricing is lower than other vets we’ve used.
The pain of losing a beloved pet is indescribable. My father once reminded me that our pets truly experience life at its best. While we wake up to the stress of daily routines, working hard and returning home exhausted, our pets wake up with pure joy, excited to see us. They relish the fruits of our labor, enjoying a full bowl of food, a cozy home, and a comfy bed, all while living stress-free and basking in our unconditional love. I like to believe that my sweet Daisy enjoyed the best years of her life with me. When the time came to make the heart-wrenching decision to euthanize her due to age and health concerns, I was grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by the staff and vet at Richmond Veterinary Hospital. Their gentle words and patient demeanor were a source of comfort during such a painful time. They allowed me to grieve and offered support as I prepared to say goodbye to my little Daisy. In return, I received precious memories, including her paw prints and a keepsake of her signature bow—the same bow that adorned her luscious hair. I deeply appreciate everything Richmond Veterinary Hospital did for me, which is why we continue to trust them with our furry family members. Thank you to the wonderful staff and vet for your exceptional care and support.
Doctor is patient and gentle. Very easy to talk to, and took his time with each of my dogs. Never rushed them and was very considerate of their autonomy. There was no pushing for unnecessary testing or procedures. One of my dogs needed a blood test and they processed the results right then and there. I waited less than 15 mins in the room for results. Doctor went over the results in the same appointment. I was very impressed with that quick turnaround. We are happy new patients of this practice!
