(from Google)Easy trail for beginners. Very popular for trail runs or walking with dogs. I just wish they have better marking for street parking neat the entrance.
If you’re entering from the trailhead in the Woods of Westlake Heights neighborhood, be prepared for a relentless hike down (and back up again) a rocky descent that seems to go on for a good half hour. Bringing lots of water is required for sure and wear comfortable shoes. The water was quite low at Sculpture Falls and was just sitting still as a mere puddle. No one was there. It was just hot and dried up. More towards the middle between the trailhead and Sculpture Falls we found a nice place that had running water and a baby waterfall. It was so nice! But yeah, once the trail evens out after the rocky descent, it is a lovely hike with lots of trees and wildlife (birds, baby frogs, little lizards, etc.). We only ventured as far as Sculpture Falls and back.
Sculpture Falls only holding a little bit of water 8/5/25. Still a great spot to see the unique rock carvings and great views. Beware of water moccasin! Not a great picnic spot as there is very little shade to be found.
We had fun this weekend here. It was around 45 walk from where we parked but it was worth it! The water felt so good specially the water falling from the rocks it was so nice and bonus point was the Dog’s swimming everywhere. If you are not a dog lover i think u should just stay away so the doglovers can enjoy! Just sayin 😂. My baby i think enjoyed the walk, water not so much cus she was cold but then again shes always hot so i think the water was a must after that walk! ❤️
We had a great family hike on the Barton Creek Greenbelt to Sculpture Falls. The trail was lively, and the scenery was lovely. It took us an hour round trip. The only downside was the completely dry creek, swimming was out of the question.
