(from Google)The Y Trail is one of the most iconic hikes in Provo. I’ve done it more than once, and while it’s short, it’s definitely a workout. The trail is well marked, but steep enough to feel rewarding once you reach the top. The view overlooking the city is worth the effort, especially around sunset. It’s popular, but that also makes it feel like a shared local experience. If you’re looking for a quick hike with a great payoff, this is a classic option that lives up to its reputation.
You either love it or hate it. Depends on if you love or hate hiking! It’s veeeery steep but not bad if you stop at the very frequent rest stops. There are many wildlife and native flora to see! The Y itself is cool, funny thing is if you need to charge your phone there’s an outlet on the side of the Y😭 watch out for tarantulas!
Hiking the Y Trail in Utah was an amazing experience! The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking and totally worth the climb. I loved the motivational signs placed along the way they really help keep you going. There are clean restrooms available and benches along the trail, which made it easier to take short breaks. It’s a well maintained trail with a rewarding finish. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
This is a well kept transcendent trail up to both sides of the tree shaped Y and took about an hour. I appreciate the markers on the way. There is adequate seating on the route as well to make for an easier climb for all. It is very short tho. There was grain/wheat added to some portions of the trail, not sure why. The trail past this trail was pretty rough.
I hike this regularly. It's a great workout and the views are spectacular. And it's one of the shortest (and steepest) hikes in the area. Bring water. It gets hot in the late morning through the evening. And watch for rattlesnakes. There are a few on the trail from time to time.
