Salem Veterinary Emergency Clinic

I had a pet that needed to be euthanized. I made an appointment and they pretty much said making an appointment is pointless. Horrible!! There has been 2 people in front of me for over 2 hours. Everyone there is really nice and understanding once they realized what I was dealing with. Receptionist needs a little more compassion, I needed help getting in the door and it looked liked I inconvenienced her by asking for assistance while I get my walker. I did apologize to her for being rude. I was upset about the appointment being useless. They need to do away with the appointment. Extremely misleading. You are in a horrible mind set and being lied to about the appointment, waiting in a hot car, made the ordeal horrible. They send a email, why couldn’t you just state it’s first come first serve. The appointment does not hold your place in line . Very emotional for anyone one who has to euthanize a pet the ordeal became very upsetting. You need to hire another vet. I think you burn out your vets. This way you get more patients through, means more money generated. Instead of helping one pet at a time which can 2/3 hours. Maybe your vets would last longer.

If I could give more stars I could. We took our cat, Turd, there after she had issues following a vet appointment elsewhere. She hadn't eaten or drank for over 2 days and had a really bad fever. We have been struggling with her for months, having chronic bowl and constipation issues. Every vet we had taken her to before regarding this always turned into "try this expensive food" or some other name brand product they sponsored. Salem Vet were the first to actually take us serious. I want to specifically shout out Tina (I believe that was her name). She was an absolute angel, and actually tried to help rather then figure out what the next designer food we should try would be. She helped so much, we got blood work and imaging done in 30 minutes, something we've been trying to get elsewhere for months. She gave us amazing advice and truly cared. For my cats sake I hope she never has to see her again, but if I could make that Vet Tech our full time Vet I would. I cannot express enough just how amazing she was.

Can’t thank this place enough for helping out when my baby dog got into my birthday present that had a huge amount a dark chocolate candy in it. The clinic appeared very busy with techs running in and out to bring in pets that needed urgent help. My baby was brought right so they could get him to vomit. While I waited I saw the techs appear to be so kind and gentle towards every pet they interacted with. I would highly recommend them if you have an emergency!

Most amazing staff, I was so worried about my baby. They took such good care of him for 2 days. And now we are back together watching our drama shows! Thank you!!

Our kitty Cassy had a very strange blue mark on her forehead and after googling a we only found a bunch of scary warnings telling us to go to the vet immediately. Even when we called our regular vet they told us to take her to urgent care immediately. We took her here and were helped within an hour, she got attention quickly and we found out all that worry was just over a minor bruise. They were even kind enough to waive our fee. Thank y’all for calming our fears and having great customer service :)
