(from Google)The Dallas North Aquarium is one of the best places from which one could obtain their fish. They do regular water testing to ensure the water quality remains high and they have a 48-hour warranty for all their fish. I bought 5 fish from them and 2 died within the first day, and when I called in and told them that I wasn't able to come in the next 2 days (honouring the warranty), they gave me a 2-week extension to bring the fish. Love them, and their Staff is always smiling and helpful. 🤍
The store is extremely clean and has a great selection. The sales lady that waited on me was lovely and knowledgeable. However, I bought two plecos. My neighbor bought a Pleco and a betta as well. Within a few hours of being in the tank, my neighbors fish were both dead and one of my plecos was also dead. We returned to the store the next day (Friday) and while the manager did replace our fish, he did it reluctantly. I felt like I was being scolded. I got the one replaced and bought an additional pleco and a betta. After care and getting them into the new tank, the replacement fish we both got were dead this morning. I have a master test kit and all parameters were/are fine. It isn’t my water because I have four tanks and all of my fish are thriving and healthy. This place is exceedingly expensive compared to other stores. I am very, very disappointed and out a LOT of money. Needless to say I will never step foot in this store again, nor will my neighbor. Even though the additional pleco I bought would be guaranteed and could be replaced, what’s the point?? To support a previous review that was NOT misleading, I noticed at least three fish that were dead in their tanks. And that was only in a very small corner of the store. Very, very unhappy! Just beware! PS ALL OF MY OTHER FISH AND A LOBSTER were purchased at petco or “ your pet fish“ are very healthy. Not one has died. Most of which I’ve had for quite some time. I’m no novice Note: I was agitated because of your condescension. You’re missing the whole point. None of my other fish die ever in the last year and a half since I started up my newest aquariums. None. So I find it somewhat odd that all the fish I bought from you over a period of two days and my neighbors fish all died except the one betta I bought from you. You’re very condescending and I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t get agitated.
Went to browse and ended up purchasing 2 Farowellas as a christmas gift to myself. They had a great selection and were helpful about providing information for their care. The Farowellas are also still going strong now so fish are definitely healthy from here!
Definitely the nicest aquarium store I’ve been to. Everything is clean, livestock and plants all look healthy and vibrant, employees respect your space when you browse but are friendly and available when you need them. Livestock is reasonably priced as well. They even had an aqua scaping table where you can try out layouts before you buy wood/rocks. Bought some vibrant cherry shrimp for 6.99 (same price as the big box stores, but these guys look way healthier). Will definitely be back.
My daughter and I love to visit Dallas North Aquarium! It's our favorite fish store in DFW. We can find just about anything we need for our various tanks and the employees are always helpful with any questions. Sometimes there's sick fish, but they have so many it must be hard not to and infected fish always have a treatment schedule marked on the tanks. It's clear the employees care and seem to address issues as they're raised. The corals always look incredible and the new betta installation is fascinating. They always have such a big variety of fish too, both freshwater and saltwater. The prices can be a bit high, but not so much that it still doesn't make it worth it for the trip to get everything I need. Plus, it seems prices are high everywhere right now. We've used their install team to help us move multiple tanks, one of which was a 90 gallon paludarium, from Lewisville to Colleyville. The team was polite, fast, and efficient. They carefully loaded up everything while we packed and then installed everything at the new location without any losses. I will definitely use them again.
