(from Google)Put my paddle board at this park! They did tell me to make sure I stay on the right side of the tube chute. $20 parking, you have to leave by dusk. Was pretty crowded even though it’s the off season for the river. Dog friendly. This is a great spot for a quick paddle! The water is deep enough, didn’t drag my fin at all!
Nice area to walk my dog. Easy access to the waterway.
Hinman Island Park is a good spot to access the Comal River. The restrooms and kid’s playground are the centerpiece of the park. We like to park at the restrooms to scuba the Comal River. This trip the restrooms were locked and closed. The sign said closed for maintenance or repairs but no one was doing either during the hours we were there. Clean and safe. Walk down the stairs and enter the cool river water with your tube or scuba gear.
I came here with my 1 year old and 5 year old. I love that there was an area that was shallow enough for the kids to play comfortably, as well as a deeper area for my husband and I to swim freely. They have life jackets available and a bathroom which was really nice. We went down the tube chute a few times too which was really fun to do with the littles since we didn’t want to float the whole river. This was a great place to access the river! So pretty too ! 😍
Very nice park for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Saw quite a few fish when snorkeling, but the water was a little cloudy. Some good sidewalks along the river for walking. A few people were fishing.
