(from Google)I originally came to this clinic for End of Life services. But I felt so comfortable with the kindness of the staff, and the openness of the Vet I came to bring another animal for a wellness/sick check up. The waiting room is spacious and gives animals openness for saftey. The tech listened to the timelines i presensted, and didnt assume everything was just cuz of the food they ate. While I was unable to monitor the Physical exam, I very much appreciated when Vet. Clemente was very informative, long version explanation of possibilities with my cats Issues. As well as educating me to new information around vaccines. All in all one of the best Clinical experience I've had.
We recently had to say goodbye to our 10-year-old Great Dane, Murphy, and I honestly don’t have enough words to express our gratitude to Dr. Kari Clement and Jeanette from Kern Place Veterinary Hospital. Murphy declined very quickly and overnight lost the ability to walk. We knew it was time, but that didn’t make the decision any easier. After contacting the clinic, they made arrangements to come to our home after hours the very same day for in-home euthanasia. That alone meant so much to our family. When they arrived, they didn’t rush a single moment. They sat on the floor with us and with Murphy, gently explaining the entire process so we knew what to expect. Their approach was so delicate, respectful, and compassionate. During the hardest moments, both of them were incredibly comforting and reassuring to our family. What touched us most was how they treated Murphy. They spoke softly to him, kissed his head, and stroked him with so much love and tenderness. It was clear they didn’t just see a patient, they saw our family member. Their kindness helped make an unbelievably painful moment just a little more bearable. We chose private cremation, and when we returned to the clinic to bring Murphy home, both of them came out to personally offer their condolences and give us hugs. That meant more to us than they will ever know. We have known many veterinarians throughout our lives, and I can say without hesitation that Dr. Clement is one of the most genuinely caring doctors we have ever met. The compassion shown by both her and Jeanette will stay with our family forever. We are beyond grateful we had them with us to help Murphy cross peacefully.
Last May I took my dog over to Kern Place for her annual shots. I mentioned to Dr. Bowens that I was dissatisfied with the two previous vets at other offices because I felt dismissed by them when I knew something was wrong with my dog. You just know when something is off and Dr. Bowens heard me and advised we do X-rays and bloodwork. The results came back and it turned out my dog had a huge tumor in her lung. She was referred to the Airway animal hospital and she got life saving surgery. At the animal hospital, not only did Dr. Bowens check in on Khloe, but Dr. Clement did too. After a fairly quick recovery, my dog was back to normal. She’s still doing really well. Surgery and a hospital stay is very pricey and when I was making a claim with the insurance, they decided to tell me that my dog’s tumor/cancer was a pre-existing condition. That was inaccurate. I asked Dr. Bowens if she would be willing to write to them on my behalf explaining the contrary. She was so nice and contacted them to let them know it was not a pre-existing condition. Unfortunately, they did not budge, but I do appreciate all that Dr. Bowens did for me and my dog. Highly recommend Dr. Bowens and Kern Place Veterinary.
This is Dr. Bowens and I would like to personally respond to Ms. Anderson regarding her cat. I'm sorry to hear that your cat had fleas. Texas rules allow me to speak on this since she mentioned my name and the information contained was false. At no time, did Ms. Anderson mention a concern regarding fleas to me. This is easily treated and the hospital has medication that can be prescribed. Regarding the cat being aggressive, the patient hissed and swatted at the staff when trying to get the patient out. I then suggested that the patient calm down in the room for ten minutes to see if the client could get her out as she requested. The patient continued to hiss and swat at the client and would not allow for a full physical exam. Her version is concerning as a doctor and lawyer myself. I have no problem with client feedback but please be honest. Dr. Priscilla Bowens DVM, MPH, JD
Love, love, love Dr. Clement. Shout out to her staff as well, Desi and Jeanette are the best!! Made me and my pets feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Clement is extremely knowledgeable, even when asking about my exotic pets (ball python and box turtle).
