We had a VERY disappointing experience most recently with this veterinarian. A couple of weeks ago, we noticed a small lesion on our dog’s lower lip. Naturally we felt it was something that should be evaluated by the vet. My husband took her in. They gave us a whopping estimate of approximately $1900-$4700 to address it, along with the extraction of a tooth. They offered my husband an option to “monitor it,” but no other treatment options. We were shocked by this enormous estimate and opted to get a second opinion. Thank GOD we did. The next vet who saw our dog didn’t immediately jump to needing to surgically remove the lesion. This vet instead prescribed antibiotics and an antihistamine, with the recommendation that if it doesn’t show improvement then they would recommend surgical excision. Furthermore, they didn’t advise removal of her tooth immediately either. They stated that surgery on the area would also be a difficult heal due to concerns about the closure of the area. Well what do you know? The lesion is almost GONE! The second vet has a lot of experience with the breed of our dog and told my husband that they’re prone to allergic reactions and skin lesions. I am pretty steamed that Eugene animal hospital immediately jumped to needing to cut and didn’t even offer any other forms of treatment. For this reason we will NEVER go back to them and we do not recommend them.

I went in to have a dog scanned for a microchip and to address a flea issue on his back. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The team provided the most friendly, caring, and supportive consultation possible. They handled the flea treatment plan with total expertise and made the chip check quick and easy. It is rare to find a place this dedicated they truly deserve a 6th star for how comfortable they made us feel. If you need a team that genuinely cares about your pet, this is the spot!

I took my dog to another vet because she had a lump on her leg. They said it could be rapidly spreading cancer, and that they would have another look in two weeks. Turns out the vet was going on vacation for a week. We called Eugene Animal Hospital for a second opinion and were able to get an emergency visit the same day along with a diagnosis. It was a mast cell tumor and spreads really quickly. They were able to schedule the necessary surgery within just a few short days!! Dr. Jodie was able to help us match the bill with another vet that was way further away. And let me tell you, she doesn't put our animals at arms-length, she really cares and tells you how she would treat an ailment as if it were her own family animal! Dr. Jodie, thank you for your excellent service. I do not usually leave reviews, but you and your clinic have far surpassed expectations in every way! We are happy to call Eugene Animal Hospital our new forever-vet!!!

I could not recommend Eugene Animal Hospital more. I will always send my friends and family to them. Last year my cat had to have an unexpected surgery on his hips and i was so distraught. Dr. Jodi, her team, and the rest of the staff were amazing and empathetic and knowledgeable and took amazing care of my cat and i. I’m so thankful.

I’ve been to a few vets in Eugene and this one has by far been the best. The vets are patient and kind. They charge fairly, listen intently, make sure to answer all my many questions, and they never rush me. Both our dog and cat were little stinkers and growled during parts of the visit, but the vets handled them professionally and compassionately. The receptionists and techs are equally lovely. They even made sure the lobby was clear when taking our critters in and out (one is very anxious and the other is dog reactive). Thank you Eugene Animal Hospital! We’re so grateful to have such a good team in charge of our babies health :)
