Providence Veterinary Hospital

Providence vet has cared for multiple dogs of mine and always provides stellar treatment and service. Recently had to have a surgical procedure on my dog and Dr Schelble was amazing, the office staff and vet techs were great. Cant recommend providence enough. 6 outta 5 stars

I liked the appointment when I first came with my pup. Then I got the annual reminder to schedule an appointment. I filled out a form and then nothing. Then one random morning, they called to tell me I missed an appointment. I told them no one had sent me an email or confirms anything. So we scheduled a second appointment That day I was running behind so I called to cancel. I was on hold for 16 minutes so I hung up called back and as quickly as I could I told them I was just calling to cancel and would call back to reschedule. Today I was 12 minutes late, in the parking lot and was told the late policy is 10 minutes. It would be great to get that kind of information ahead of time. You know? Seems like systems-wise, they need a little bit of customer communication improvement. Anyway, plenty of vets out there. Nothing here was super special (the techs were all sweet. But I got that at a different emergency hospital as well). If you’re nearby, go for it! If you have a lax schedule, go for it!!

I've been bringing my pets here for nearly two years. We really liked Dr. Lender when she was with the practice, but unfortunately, she's since left. During our most recent visit, we dropped off a stool sample and didn't hear back for several weeks. When I finally called to follow up, the receptionist told me the sample was never processed, without any apology or explanation. I was simply told that since we hadn't been charged, we could just bring in another sample. But honestly, how can I trust that it'll be handled properly this time? At this point, we've decided to take our pets elsewhere.

We’ve been clients of this vet for years. Given them tens of thousands of dollars in vet bills, exam fees, procedures, tests, etc, and yet every time we come in we are treated like a new client. No customer service, no inclination they remember us or care that we’ve been with them for so long. It’s always felt a little scammy and like they are trying to get more money from us, but today was the last day. Cat was brought in for an allergy check and routine vaccines. They shamed my partner for not remembering what her X-rays said a year ago (like that's our job?), and couldn’t find the X-rays to review. They made her feel like a bad pet parent for this and for our 11 year old cat’s minor underbelly. This is not a friendly neighborhood clinic. It’s a racket running the fee mill to maximize profits and churn through pets as fast as possible. We're a working class household who has two rescue animals; and not once were we ever offered any cost saving alternatives, just big fat bills and guilt if we didn't do every test/ procedure they said. Avoid avoid avoid. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

We love Providence! I've been a cat parent going on 20 years, and Providence has provided outstanding and compassionate care for both of my cats, including some very sensitive and thoughtful end-of-life care for our older cat who passed away. We just recently boarded our baby girl Sandwiches for 14 days while we were in Kauai, and she came back to us happy, healthy, and quite spoiled from all of the attention she received. I cannot recommend both locations highly enough. Amazing staff, quality care, and reasonable prices. 10/10 on all fronts.
