Alameda Pet Hospital

Alameda Pet Hospital is the BEST! The front desk superstars are responsive, witty & truly care for their human clients & furry patients. The Techs are Super Heroes - I love each and everyone of them! The doctors are amazing. I can't thank them enough for taking care of my beloved pitbull, April for many years. From nasty foxtails, to teeth cleaning, to unfortunately, the unexpected cancer diagnosis. Thank you to all of YOU at Alameda Hospital.

There have been way too many situations where the hospital is not communicating. I don’t know where it’s stemming from. I’m not the only experiencing this. Customer service has severely declined in the last few years. Dear Dr. Wagner or Current Alameda Pet Hospital Owner, I write to you to communicate my recent experience with the Pet Hospital. Over the past couple of months, service has greatly changed at this location. I have been taking Lila- my 2 year old Great Pyrenees mix for almost 2 years now. In the past, I have been provided with the wrong medication but nothing like what happened in a matter of 24 hours. Last week, I called in to have a check up scheduled for Lila with her Doctor. Apparently, the CSR who took my call put me down for a vaccination appointment not for the actual reason I had called in for. Her appointment was scheduled for 5pm on Monday 10/13. Interaction 1: I messaged at 1:49pm on Monday 10/13 if it would be possible to reschedule for this week. CSR Jensen replied I could get a cancellation fee waived since I didn't have a history of cancellation. I followed up saying if I couldn't get it rescheduled that I could still make the 5pm appointment. Jensen replied saying my appointment was cancelled and the next available was 10/23. I texted the app saying this is not what I inquired about. I then called and spoke to a CSR who was professional and kind. Texts messages attached. Interaction 2: I had a call with Dr. Trief - recording attached - who scheduled me for the next day at 2:40pm. She sent me an email with the 2 kinds of diets Lila could be put on. Email also attached. Interaction 3: I came into the office at 2:40pm just to be informed my appointment was canceled. Voice Recording Attached. I had no missed calls. I asked the time they called me and the CSRs were not able to provide the time of call or voicemail. Did the call even happen? They let me know they saved me a spot for Thursday 10/16, but I did not confirm the appointment. Interaction 4: I followed up to thank the team for Lila's medical records and to ask what time I was called. I was informed the number dialed by the CSR was incorrect by 1 number. Screenshots of the messaging system attached. How come I was not informed of the cancellation through the messaging app? Can the record of the call be pulled? Miscommunication has happened a little too often. Did the team choose not to call me for the cancellation? What number was called? Perhaps I can call them and ask to retrieve the VM that was left by the CSR. If you take a look at the Reviews on the Google Page, I am not the first one to experience this kind of customer service. Screenshot of review(s) attached. Doctor Trief has been great. The last time I was there Lila let herself be examined thoroughly. Her record shows she was given an ear cleaning last time she was there, but that day she came home and her ear was not clean at all. I noticed there was a note on her record saying she was aggressive. She did struggle 2 times to go in the front door. One of those times there was a kind gentleman who was patient with lila and carried her inside to be examined, but my experience earlier this week was not great and has left me feeling very uncomfortable. I will not be returning to Alameda Pet Hospital.

this was years ago, when i lived in alameda, but my first two cats were patients there, and i always appreciated the staff, their compassion for the critters AND people, and i even liked the space itself! easy to get to, modern, clean, with fun stuff around to check out. then i adopted a kitten that ended up very sick, and had to get to the vet on the same day as i was to attend a funeral. the hospital did their best, but he didnt make it. they kindly took care of him safely until i was able to return, i think the next day. i dont know if its standard practice, but my previous and current vet would never have done that, and i will always be appreciative of their services. if i still lived there, they would certainly be my vet hospital of choice. While in California, Kona is well taken care of here. The staff and doctors are all nice and caring. Not Kona's favorite place for obvious reasons but certainly a place his family trusts!!! As a professional in human health care, both Drs Harris and Wagner and their team deserves 5 stars!

Had to schedule dental procedures for my 7 year old fur baby after dreading it for the last year but seeing a big decrease in eating and a change in Behavior it was definitely needed. Alameda Pet Hospital was great, they were very upfront about procedure and cost and kept the total price with in the original estimate. They even called the next day to check on Tucker post-op. I would highly recommend them for any Veterinary needs, we have been going with them for years and have never been disappointed. There covid-19 compliance is great and I never once felt sad for leaving my pet even though I couldn't take him in to the building and I had to wait in the car when it came time to pick him up
