Libbit Park in Encino is a great little hidden gem if you’re looking for a place to take your dog. It’s tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, and it has a really relaxed, laid-back vibe. There’s a good amount of open grassy space and some shaded areas under the trees, which is perfect for both you and your pup to chill. A lot of locals bring their dogs here, and even though it’s not technically an off-leash park, you’ll often see dogs running around freely. Just keep in mind it’s not fully fenced in — there are some gaps in the wooden posts — so it’s definitely one of those spots where your dog needs to be good with voice commands. If your dog tends to bolt or not listen, this might not be the best place for that kind of freedom. But if your pup has solid recall and is cool around other dogs and people, Libbit Park is a sweet spot to hang out, throw a ball, and let them burn off some energy without the chaos of a big dog park. It’s usually not crowded, and everyone there tends to be super friendly and respectful. Definitely a nice change of pace if you’re tired of the same old spots — just bring your leash, some poop bags, and a little water, and you’re set.

Beware, this is not a fenced in dog park. However, there is a massive grass and dirt space for your furry friends to run around. I would not not come here just because it is not fenced in. Just please make sure you pay extra careful attention if your dog is new to the park. There are plastic bags to pick up your dogs poop. And beware there is no lighting for the evenings.
