(from Google)I have been coming here for years. Used to be really overgrown but has had a lot of brush removed creekside. Fewer cats than I remember but they are not a detriment. Possums, raccoons, armadillos, deer can be seen at the right time of day/year. Beware of alligator snapping turtle! Rarely seen, but are cantankerous. Pathways may have runoff after rain and can be slippery, but are in good shape if you are mindful. Pecan trees, pin oaks, live oak, and mossy cup oaks abound, providing shade on the west side leg.
A nature walk shouldn't have an asphalt path. Where is the park maintenance? Signage from the road is non existant. Signage on site is in desperate need of resigning. Trash all over the grounds from broken ear pieces to plastic flowers to dog turds. Not a pleasant place to enjoy nature.
Very disappointing! Just like walking down your neighborhood street. Path is covered in hard asphalt which is good for smooth riding in vehicles but hard as hell on joggers shins, knees & and ankles. Since vehicles are not allowed, what is the point?
Even pavement walking, dog friendly with 💩 bags available and disposal containers. Everyone says hello, smiling face occasionally small talk while taking a brisk or leisure walk. Benches to on and stretch. Variety of birds to be admired. Plenty of shade trees.
My family and I love walking here whenever we can! It’s nice to be outside enjoying nature and of course, the friendly cats.
