Pleasant place to walk trails with pets

This is the second time I've been here. The first time it had rained the day before, so I didn't walk too far. However today was a nice day and walked towards the hill from the old post office building. I had two choices at the intersection go up the steep hill or left. I went left on a rocky road. Wear good shoes because there are areas where the ground is unstable because of rocks. This is not a path for strollers or walkers because it isn't a smooth path. The main path is clearly marked but some trails are off the main path for people to venture on. The left road wraps around back to the main highway. If you use Google maps satellite view you will find a path that leads you back to the big open field behind the post office and the parking lot. It was a good walk that took me about an hour of my time. Quiet and peaceful.

Big wide open spaces. Nice large covered patio area. This is the only shade area, so it would be nice to see additional cabanas or shaded areas with concrete floors and seating. You know how hot it gets here in Central Texas during the summer. Rest rooms are around back on this building. Park needs more garbage cans. The park has acres of wide open spaces ideal for kite flying. The grounds are mostly flat and well maintained for a park that doesn’t have any flowing water or soil irritation. Lacks vegetation or and landscaping of any kind. Old Settlement building was home to the Post Office and General Store as well as small living quarters. The building is opened up under special circumstances. Then closed and fenced up to prevent vandalism. In October 3022 it was the Host to Heritage Festival.

Great place to take a walk along the cedar and oak trees, plenty of parking. Easy to moderate nature trail. I think I will try taking my mountain bike on this trail. It leads along the ridgeline of the hill.

A great public use area, how awesome of a place. Even though it was 98° today, sitting in the concrete slab of the pavilion, it was nice watching all the dancing going on. Has a male and female bathroom, not a bad park to do things in.
