Newer to the area, came here a few weeks ago to establish care for our pet. We found the medical staff to ne excellent but the receptionist scared us away for good I think. She was so ingenuine... she looked very unprofessional and her sly, nasty attitude seemed par for the course. Acted like she is a teenager who has never worked before. She looks like she would fit better in a cabaret than a clinic, but possible she used to dance and just was on stage too long. She clearly didn't know anything she was talking about, was coy and catty when I asked her a question. I didn't want to write this, we loved Dr. Foster but as I'm reviewing places in the area I felt the need to steer others away from here. One of the staff in the back said the entire office has had issues with this team member and her condescending attitude, flirting with customers. I was worried she would retaliate but have surmised I am not on the paperwork, at all, for our pet. You get what you pay for, and although it was affordable here, we found another office in Fredricksburg that has better pricing that wasn't a nightmare to schedule an appointment with.

Awesome staff! Amazing, caring, compassionate veterinarians! We had been with a different clinic for 9 years. We recently switched to CVC because of Dr. Foster! It is so apparent the whole team cares so much for the pets. We highly recommend CVC!

After being with another vet for over 10 years, I decided to switch to Compassion - and I am so glad I did. The difference in care, communication, and overall compassion has been incredible. The entire team truly lives up to their name. They have taken the time to get to know my dog and both cats. They explain everything clearly, and make all of us feel comfortable and cared for. It’s such a relief to finally feel confident and supported again when it comes to my pet’s health. Highly recommend!

I’d reached out on a Friday morning when my feline friend wasn’t feeling well. Vomited, didn’t want to eat, and running a low grade fever. Cats are a bit of an unknown for me, but I knew he wasn’t feeling well. Chrisie promptly answered my call with professionalism, empathy, and kindness for my concerns. She found an appointment slot for Griffin that was only an hour out, which I snagged. Dr. Proietti was absolutely fantastic. I explained right off the bat I was a bit of basket-case that morning. I’d been dealing with a multitude of losses lately and I was struggling to hold myself together when my cat showed signs he wasn’t doing well as I feared the worse. Dr. Proietti was incredibly kind, empathetic, thorough, and approachable with any questions I had. He redirected me by explaining how he wanted to approach Griffin’s care via a few different routes. He was also kind enough to indulge when I wanted to find and share Griffin’s 3 day old video. Once a direction we decided on they provided sub-q fluids, anti-nausea, and some B12 to Griffin and encouraged me to return if needed the following day. Fortunately by the evening he had improved greatly, eaten some, and was acting more like himself. The practice reached out the next morning to check on him as well. This facility lives up to the name and I am very thankful for Dr. Proietti‘s guidance in getting my feline friend back to feeling better. Thank you so much!! (Sorry for the book)

This veterinary practice goes above and beyond in ways I have never seen before. It truly feels like they care about my dog and are doing everything in their power to help me and her. For that, Compassion truly sticks out among the crowd. Two weeks ago, my dog began exhibiting signs of weakness where she couldn't stand without stumbling. I called my usual vet in a hurry and I was told they didn't have any doctors in on that particular day, and to reach out to an emergency clinic. After calling around to several places(frustratingly, several of the "24 hour" ERs were either closed or had no available room), the people at Compassion were the first to take her in. It was total happenstance that I found and went to this place, but I am so glad for it. My dog was diagnosed with a cancerous intestinal mass. She was previously diagnosed with anemia at her usual vet about a week prior, and testing throughout the weekend both here and at Cladda gave a fuller view of the picture, which was not looking great. Her situation deteriorated extremely quickly. By Sunday she began to regurgitate nonstop. I was urged by a doctor at Cladda to seek out surgery as soon as possible, as they feared it had turned into(or already was the whole time) an intestinal blockage. By Monday, I returned to Compassion for supportive care and to discuss options. That was by far the hardest day of this whole journey, as I had to choose between a risky and expensive surgery with limited information about her cancer, or choose euthanasia. I nearly went with euthanasia due to financial limitations and how rough of a shape she was in. Her odds at surviving the surgery were not the best. Here is where Dr. Proietti really did something that stood out to me. He called around to several places for me, for hours, trying to find the best possible estimate from a surgeon who could also do it as soon as possible. He was able to find me a board-certified traveling surgeon, within my price range, who could perform the surgery as soon as Wednesday. .. in comparison, a doctor elsewhere kept trying to push me to a very specific surgeon that I definitely could not afford, who was an hour away, then also tried to dissuade me from using the surgeon Dr. Proietti found, and even laid on some guilt about "skimping on expenses for my pet". It became pretty clear to me then whose services I wanted to use. My dog survived the surgery at Compassion, and is currently a little over a week into recovery. I don't want to celebrate too soon, but regardless of what happens, I am eternally grateful for this clinic. I am not sure my sweet girl would still be here if I hadn't found them. Not just Dr. Proietti but all the doctors, the vet techs, the front desk, and everyone I've met here are incredibly kind, patient, willing to help, have answered all of my many questions, and are currently still assisting with the post-op recovery and any concerns that I have. They have made themselves incredibly available in case of any complications. They allowed me to see my dog during hospitalization, went out of their way to find her food when she wouldn't eat, offered overnight monitoring and even let me come in early on some days. I have had pets my whole life, and I have experienced some truly awful veterinary service in the past at other clinics, some of which costed the life of my previous animals. I don't trust veterinary practices easily, but this place has earned my trust wholeheartedly. I will certainly be looking into switching to them as my primary vet and will be referring people here!
