(from Google)Short loop trail very flat not many roots. Peaceful for the most part. Some noise from freeway, kid's baseball/soccer games and a gun range. Overall very nice.
This is a great trail system for walking dogs, especially during the summer. There are two main sections—paved and unpaved—with multiple loops and plenty of shade to help keep things cool. It’s an excellent spot for dogs to explore, sniff around, and stay comfortable even on warmer days. Be aware that the unpaved trails can get muddy after rain. Please keep pets on a leash, as there are snake warnings throughout the trails and the potential to disturb local wildlife.
A nice little preserve with well maintained trails, but a lot of the specimen plants on the placards are not there. It's quite easy to find even small plants to plant as replacements in the bare spots. Also, please remove the Chinaberry placard because it's a very invasive tree.
I really enjoyed the walk in the 1-mile loop trail here. You’ll see wildlife like rabbits and plenty of signs to stay on trail to avoid snake bites. The botanic smell was very pleasant too!
I had no idea that this little nature preserve even existed after growing up in Carrollton and now living here several years as an adult. We heard about this fun twilight lady bug release going on the Saturday evening before Easter and decided to check it out. It was a cute little event but the tour through the nature trail was great. What a cute little trail with some fun wildlife to learn about. This area is also a great spot for taking blue bonnet photos so we go some good ones while we were here!
