Great for hikes. Lots of trails that zig zag for a nice walk or bike ride. Weird pier at the very end that goes out over the lake...but the trails are all well shaded and keep it somewhat cool and out of the sun as you walk. Trails are well maintained and there's always a nice little group of fellow outdoor enthusiast that are on the trails- felt very safe even walking around dusk. Park hours vary on the time of year but generally from dawn till dusk. Parking availability is at the front entrance with a large paved parking area that has several trail heads or if you drive farther back, there are smaller off the road gravel parking spread out all around. No bathrooms available to make sure to go beforehand. Other than that , enjoy a nice shaded hike through this hidden gem of a park. In case of rain, there's no real shelter in place other than quickly getting back to your vehicle if one of the summer storms decides to surprise ya.
A very unexpected piece of nature in the city with only few visitors and several social trails that put you in the middle of saw palmetto tickets. Most visitors seem to walk alongside the road, but if you follow the unpaved, uneven trails you can walk a ~2.5-mile loop. The lake has a pier and offers nice views but I like the pond close to the first parking lot a bit better. The only downside are the trails that follow fences for long stretches. The trails could be placed just 10 yards away from those fences which would create a much more natural experience.
What a beautiful little park 🏞 nestled in between developments here in Clearwater. I never knew the park was here. Business around the corner for 10 years . Today was my first visit. Was very happy I got to see the first touch of fall. A great place to take a walk, jog, or a hike. There's also a nice equestrian area for your horse. Where you can tie up with a covered picnic area . So you can relax and take a break from the blistering sun. They also have dirt trails to enjoy a ride through the trees. It's also a paved walkway that goes through the park. It might even be the Pinellas Trail. There were a couple of tables scattered along the trail. A big and beautiful boardwalk going out onto the lake. That seems to be the best part of the park. It was very peaceful. It's not too crowded, especially during the week. When it cools down and the leaves change. That place is going to be beautiful. There are a lot of really big oak trees. Which does provide quite a bit of shade, especially in this triple digit heat wave. Make sure to have plenty of water for your hike. Don't forget the sunscreen. Happy trails Enjoy 🏝
This is a fantastic park to come to you to walk your dogs take a run or just walk around with your family. We have been here three times now and we have loved every time. So far we have found many paths to walk along and we have found the lake which is really beautiful and there are lots of native flora and fauna. There is a very large parking lot when you first come in which also has a hose so that you can wash your dog off after the walk. There are picnic tables further on when you drive down the road further into the park and that is where you will also find the lake. We saw the entrance to the paved bicycle trail so I don’t know how long it is.
