Fun place to get pumpkins and goodies. Plus has great kids play things.

Loved this little spot. So calming and beautiful, expansive mountain views 😍 Lot is small, but there weren’t many people there on a weekday evening.

A serene, delightful place filled with more prairie dogs that I think I have seen in one place in my life, hundreds and hundreds of them, all with their little holes right beside the path. Admire their cuteness while being wary of them. There is a lovely lake here, but it is a bit of a hike from the southern side, and the hike is relatively linear, but it is not unpleasant, and one passes by an eagle viewing area and wide swaths of high grass while tramping northward through the meadows. Also be sure to note the railway tracks on the outskirts.

Lovely place indeed. Saw a few serious bird watchers, and there are plenty of birds to gander at. I came for the walk. The path doesn't quite go around the whole lake. Also there is a connecting path that leads to the much larger Rock Creek trails, but that was closed for whichever reason I don't know. The area is beautiful and fairly quiet. The backdrop is the gorgeous flatirons and up to Longs Peak. Nice walk for sure.

Very pleasant walk. Spectacular views. Very open with not much shade. Prairie dogs abound. Walked from the lake parking lot towards the wetland area only to discover it's closed until October (see photos for more info). Wish they posted that at the main trailhead before we walked all that way, but still a nice walk.
