(from Google)We are extremely satisfied with our first experience at this clinic for our cat’s visit. As we recently moved from abroad, everything is new to us, and we truly appreciated how welcoming and reassuring the team was. The receptionist was very friendly, warm, empathetic, and highly professional. Scheduling the appointment was quick and easy. During the visit, all the requested information was handled efficiently. The examination and check-up were conducted very thoroughly, with great attention to detail. The veterinarian took the time to ask all the necessary questions and made sure everything was carefully reviewed. We felt genuinely reassured about our cat’s health. We are very grateful for the quality of care and can only highly recommend this place.
I have nothing but praise for this facility and everyone that works there, from the women who greet you when you walk in, to the vet techs, and the doctors. They all greet you with a smile or a warm voice on the other end of the phone when you call with questions or to make an appointment. I have had animals as part of my family since I was born and have had my share of facilities that I have experienced through the many years, and Arlington Dog and Cat are hands down unequivocally the best. Dr. Esrig treats with compassion and is super knowledgeable and makes you feel at peace that your baby is in the best care. As a parent to a special needs fur baby, I am extremely particular on who I entrust her care with and there is no one I would rather care for her than Dr. Esrig and the team.
I’ve moved around so I’ve had a few different vets for my older kitty and this is the best experience I’ve had! She has had some bad vet experiences in the past and can be anxious going into appointments so I was nervous taking her for her annual visit. The staff listened to my concerns and took precautions with her that I really appreciated and led to our appointment going very smoothly. I also started taking my new kitten here and they have been outstanding. I can tell they really care about my pets and all of the animal patients they see. There’s clear communication from the doctors and great follow up. My kitties will be coming here for a long time!!
Our two precious, Persian cats have seen most of the Doctors here. First, the staff, on the phone and in person are truly fabulous. They are so kind, polite and professional. You can tell they truly love the animals and make you feel welcome and comfortable.. We have seen most of the Doctors for routine, wellness checks and a few issues, thankfully, nothing very serious. My Potato, who is an exotic, short haired, persian is a very timed and nervous cat. They were so patient and gentle with him, I could tell he was not traumatized at all. Bougie, my white, Persian is also non aggressive, but very nervous. She was treated so kindly with such patience and care. I don't think anyone looks forward to taking their pets to the vet, but they do make it an easy and pleasant experience.
To make a very long story short, my dog Simba was given a medication that caused kidney failure (Carprofen) for anti inflammation by Annette Califanio. She prescribed this without blood work or anything to confirm it was safe. I went back to this vet clinic to treat his severe kidney failure and all they gave him was a fluid treatment and false hope. They told us that it would flush his kidneys. Rachel Plafker Esrig was extremely compassionate for Simba and was considerate of cost of treatments and medication. However my mom and I felt abandoned by her after she diagnosed Simba. The day we went in for his first day of fluid treatment we saw her in the back but she didn’t address us or even look at us. My mom waved at her but it was possible she was busy but I digress. Simba was experiencing some scary symptoms that lead us to take him to an emergency vet. (VEG) The doctor there told us that Carprofen should not be given to dogs over 3 years old without blood work. And that a fluid treatment would in fact NOT flush his kidneys. I am so extremely broken and devastated that Simba is gone due to the malpractice of this clinic. I regret trusting them. **Please avoid taking your pets here for severe conditions. If they prescribed your pet medication I encourage you to do a lot research and maybe get a second opinion if you have the means. Please avoid Annette Califano. As a vet she should know not to have given a shih tzu (who are prone to kidney failure) a medication that would cause kidney failure without a blood test. Do not put your trust into this clinic.
