(from Google)We took in a yard cat... Too many out there to take them all in. We named him tiger and he needed rescuing. Wr went to another vet that was heavy on charges and light on interaction. Forest animal, really shows they care about the pets. The assistants were playing with our tiger, made him comfortable, gave advice on techniques as we are first time pet owners... I do find owning a weird word to use cause our tiger picked us. Well... The shory of it is. Good place for us.
Feb 7th at 2:20. I was left on hold for 15 min and when I politely asked if next time they can say, "we will call back" the receptionist said we are doing the best we can unapologetically and put me on hold again and left me on hold another 15 min. The women was rude and when I asked why she was being so rude she hung up on me. I am curious to who employs this type of service. I didn't even get a chance to make an appointment and they lost a customer of two pets. That is not how to run a local business on SI nor do I want someone like this in my community.
If I can give this doctor and his team a ZERO I would! Horrifying experience! My cat is a gentle cat, she may growl when she feels cornered or doesnt feel well but she has NEVER scratched or bit anyone. The staff should not be afraid of a little cat! She had been vomiting and when I tried to explain to the doctor that she seems to be coughing due to something in her esophogus he SHUT ME UP and told me to stand in the corner while he grabbed the cat, she growled and the staff tossed a net over her! I was HORRIFIED but it only got WORSE from there! He felt her abdomen and said she was NOT BLOCKED and told his staff to give her a shot of antibiotic (?) and anti nausea. They did not allow me to hold her NOR DID THEY, they kept her squirming UNDER THE NET and one of the staff members the tall one with the big eyes, STARTED JABBING MY CAT as if she was in a SWORD FIGHT! She jabbed her randomly and then pushed the needle in her. The cat SCREAMED in PAIN! I was in the absolute state of SHOCK! I have NEVER WITNESSED such ANIMAL CRUELTY! Because she was not being held properly this woman (tech?!) could have punctured a lung or a vital organ! I had to bring my cat again to VERG 2 days later and they allowed me to hold her head as she PURRED and the doctor could not believe what this poor animal experienced! They took an xray and discovered there WAS a PARTIAL BLOCKAGE and then I had to see another a few days later to check up again after FLUIDS were administered. This new vet on SI also allowed me to hold her head and she PURRED and he also could NOT BELIEVE what a nightmare we had experienced! He also gave her fluids and suggestions that were helpful and a better anti nausea medicine. He was so gentle and LISTENED TO ME and did not SHUT ME UP. She finally passed the paper towel she had swallowed that was giving her a difficult time. I proceeded to call the office of Dr V and Forest Ave and told them I would like to speak with Dr V. He REFUSED to speak with me and I told the receptionist to let him know how cruel his staff is and that I want a refund of my visit and I would like him to call me. HE NEVER DID ! HE DOES NOT CARE! All he cares about is vaccination and his POWER TRIP! STAY AWAY!! KEEP YOUR ANIMAL SAFE from this MAD HOUSE! I am thinking about calling a lawyer or animal welfare on this practice before they harm another pet!
We had a wonderful experience at Forest Animal Hospital! I brought my two kittens, Luné and Maelle, in for their spay appointments, and I couldn't be happier with the care they received. From the moment we walked in, the staff was positive and friendly, which really helped put my mind at ease. It’s clear they truly care about the animals they treat. The procedure went smoothly, and the team provided great communication throughout the day. We will be headed back in two weeks to have their sutures removed, but so far, it has been such a positive experience. If you’re looking for a vet in Staten Island that is professional and welcoming, I highly recommend them! Also, fantastic price 🌟
I got my cat neutered and vaccinated here. Even though the wait is long it’s so worth it for the professionalism and reasonable pricing. A lots of love from brooklyn!
