(from Google)Part of a larger trail system. Large, paved paths with plenty of room for bikers, walkers, and runners. Good mix of shade and open areas. I went for trail so I don't know much about playground. However, the playground looks very neat. I think my kids would have loved all the climbing when they were little.
Very nice shelter. Calm and private, next to a very nice trail. There are two large grills. Would visit again.
This is a great new paved trail. I believe this section of the park is less than a few years old. It looks and feels brand new. It’s an out-and-back trail that goes north from this trailhead and connects with the main section of cedar niles park which is located to the northeast of here at Clare road. The trail is probably a few miles long if I had to guess. I only walked it about 75% of the way and then came back to the parking lot. I had a great time. There was very few people when I went on a weekday afternoon but I did see a lot of wildlife on the trail with me. It’s a beautiful path and it winds along next to cedar creek nearly the entire way. There was 3 bridges to cross which was really fun. At the parking lot there is bathrooms and a playground for kids. Also appeared to be some areas to sit and have a picnic too. Overall, this isn’t a wilderness trail in the back country. It’s a great suburban walking/biking pathway that makes you feel like you’ve left the city. It’s beautiful and the county did a good job with this one.
This trailhead has facilities as well as picnic tables and a small playground meant for kids 5-12 years of age. Most of the trail between 135th and 127th Street is fairly flat and shaded in some parts!
I’m not as excited as others. The trail has no loops that I could see, so it’s out and back. I hope they connect it to Lake Olathe in the future. They do have one piece of climbing equipment and the part is enough out of the way that the shelter might be used less. Of all the trails and parks, this is okay.
