South Shore Grooming

So I brought my fearful rescue dog into South Shore grooming & Janice asked what kind of cut I wanted and would call when she was finished . When she called to tell me to pick up my dog she also proceeded to say my dog is sneaky and very strong and that she bent the metal bars while in her cage. I thought how odd but to my surprise they were in fact bent. I told her theres no way she could’ve done that she’s a quiet fearful medium sized dog. She then told me it must’ve been the blow dryer and then I thought Janice did not hand dry her but had placed my dog in a cage with a blow dryer on her. So my belief is that my dog was so fearful or so hot that she literally was trying to get out of the kennel & was so afraid that she in fact bent the metal. This doesn’t happen in minutes that would take some time and being Janice’s grooming is an open floor plan Janice or her staff was not aware of this taking place?! In essence, I found a wonderful new friendly groomer who loves dogs and loves what she does & would never place my dog or any dog in a cage to dry with a blow dryer.

I've had a fantastic experience at South Shore Grooming! Janice is simply the best. I've been to several places locally, and I love how Janice only has a couple of dogs at one time, which makes me feel so much better leaving my dog there—there’s no overload of dogs. The salon is spotless, and my 10-year-old Shih Tzu can be a bit feisty, but Janice always knows just how to handle her. She comes out looking absolutely beautiful every time! Plus, Janice is impressively quick, making the entire process smooth and efficient. Thank you, Janice Chesney—my dog smells great and looks amazing! Highly recommend her services!

Worst experience ever! Do not take your dog to get nails cut here. Cut all my dogs nails WAY too short. No guard or caution on hitting a blood vessel. I could have easily done the same.. (cut my dogs nails without caution and made her bleed let alone traumatize her). And then be told by the owner they put a treatment on it.. they did NOT! Total LIE!! Beware!! Blood on all my rugs all over the house! Disgrace!!

I've been searching for a good reliable groomer for over 3 years for my Labradoodle. After six different places, I was referred to Janice at South Shore Grooming. I called and left a message on Saturday and got a call back within 24hrs for a Monday appointment. I have to admit I was a little anxious, especially after having no luck with the previous groomers. I dropped off my furbaby at 10am and got a call back by 12pm that she was ready. I was surprised to say the least since in the past it's taken at least 4+ hours at all the other places. But when I got there I was pleasantly surprised. Janice was able to accomplish what no other groomer had, she managed to do a full grooming on my relatively big (75+ lbs) girl, without having to air dry her or keep her in a kennel for longer than needed. Keke (my furbaby) was absolutely excited to see me but what I noticed was that she didn't look sad like she normally did after our previous grooming sessions. Janice took real good care of Keke and you could visibly see how happy she was. I feel like I just hit the jackpot finding Janice so close by. Thank you for taking such good care of my furbaby and making her look and smell great!!! I can officially say I have found a groomers for LIFE!!!!!
