It was a nice trail with lots of trees. A few hills but nothing too difficult. Eventually you can see the Tennessee River. Nothing g spectacular but a nice quiet trail. Only came upon 1 bike rider.

TWRA conservation officers are power-hungry and control freaks. They don't care about safety they care about you listening to them and having you jump and being very letter of the law. Had a very negative experience with a conservation officer and he should be very of ashamed of himself for not listening well

There are some really nice bluff views on the outer loop, which is accessible year round. The inner trails are closed for hunting from Sept 1 - May 31. There are no restroom facilities and there is no water access for dogs. This is part of the larger Knoxville Urban Wilderness trail system.

Some trails are unmaintained and completely overgrown, meaning they're riddled with ticks, pulled four off myself and five off my dog. I would have stood on the better maintained trail but I didn't have hours to do a huge loop. Looked like a good place to mountain bike. We had hiked there before and ticks were bad in the fall as well. There's also alot of really old trash and a random rusted barbed wire fences..

We started on the Whaley trail that wraps around the lake and leads to a paved path where Sunflower fields bloom 🌻. My favorite MTB trail was West Perimeter as it is very smooth and flowy. Little to no technical rocks or sticks 👍. Very fun day with my hubs🚵‍♀️🇺🇲💝
