Alafia Scrub Nature Preserve

Red trail was the longest of them. Still small but nice. Very well shaded walk all around and you get some view of the river. Other than that ... its just a nature walk in the FL humid 🤣 2025 update: the dock is renewed and is open again. They also added couple small bridges to walk over the creeks that are in the park that used to be in very bad shape ! Very much improved from last year. Added 2 new pictures for reference to the bridges.

I am a paranoid little dog owner that wants to bring my pups where there are not too many people or other dogs- today was perfect! I only took them about 25 min but it was great! Absolute quiet besides fido😃😂

No maintenance, but I actually liked the winding, explore as you go. Some parts are close to the road, so you’ll hear traffic. I’d recommend long pants, watch out for branches. The bridge was a nice surprise

First visit today (11/30/2024) and found a nice, peaceful hiking trail that was almost empty, 3 other patrons were observed. Please note that BOTH trails leading to observation deck on the Alafia River are closed. Only 4 stars because no signange/online info reflected no egress to river/deck.

What a GREAT preserve! Peaceful, but yet close to civilization so you won’t get lost:) trails well maintained and marked. Great catwalk to the river. Perfect place to grab a coffee and go on a stroll in nature:)
