(from Google)Lake Hollingsworth is Lakeland’s heartbeat for movement, routine, and everyday life. This is where the city comes to walk, run, bike, think, and reset. The paved loop around the lake is wide, smooth, and well-used, making it ideal for both serious runners and casual evening walkers. The views are expansive and open, with long stretches of water, palm trees, and wildlife that remind you this is Florida at its best. Birds are everywhere—egrets, ducks, and herons—often close enough to feel like part of the scenery rather than background noise. The lake feels alive without being intrusive. What makes Lake Hollingsworth special is consistency. It’s dependable. Sunrise or sunset, weekday or weekend, there’s always a steady rhythm of people showing up for themselves here. Students, families, retirees, and fitness groups all share the same space without it feeling crowded or competitive. There’s a quiet discipline to this place. People come here to move forward—literally and mentally. It’s not a destination you rush through; it’s one you return to. Over time, Lake Hollingsworth becomes less of a place you visit and more of a routine you rely on.
Visiting another body of water in Lakeland. Lake Hollingsworth is next to the Lakeland Country Club. This lake is perfect for group activities and nice for fishing!
This is my favorite place in Lakeland for a peaceful walk. During the summer it gets busier, but understandably so. The winter months here are still beautiful and even more peaceful with fewer people. The grassy areas are clean and well kept. There is adequate walking space and benches along the lake, with many more being on the college side. I sometimes worry about parking, but I’ve never had an issue. The neighborhood alone is gorgeous, the lake is the icing on the cake.
Google maps is great! I didn't know if there was any parking along the lake but the satellite view shows plenty of parking by the Lakeland County club. The walk around the lake is a little less than 3 miles. There are many water birds to watch. Occasionally there is a bench to sit on. There were 3 or 4 places with water fountains for people and pets. Unfortunately the only restrooms near the lake are the portables near the parking lot.
Great place to enjoy a walk or hammock in the trees or snap a sunset photo of the wildlife with our beautiful town of Lakeland in the backdrop. Highly recommend just to find your special area of ambiance around the water...
