The staff is wonderful. Everyone I’ve met here has been kind, caring, and compassionate. Even my pup likes coming here; she gets so excited to go to the vet!

I followed Dr. Ashley to here from her old clinic after the previous vet asked me if I was brushing my cat’s teeth… when I’d had them surgically removed there a few years prior. I trust Coal Creek with my cat’s life, which is the highest praise I can give them. They care deeply for her and let her comfort level dictate how they interact. Staff don’t hesitate to get down on the floor, for example. I consider them partners in ensuring my cat’s long life and happiness.

We took our 4 month old puppy to Coal Creek Animal Hospital for his post-adoption check-up and could not have been happier. The front desk was friendly and inviting, and Dr. Ashley was both professional and warm when evaluating our pup. She was able to answer all of our questions and had great advice on how to manage our puppy's growth. In addition, the prices at the hospital felt fair and highly worth the service that was provided. Happy to have such a great staff taking care of our pet.

If we could give them 10 stars, we would! Coal Creek is an A+ veterinary practice, and we’ve been blown away by the care our kitties have received since our very first visit. After moving to Thornton four years ago, we tried three different local vets—each one was subpar at best. It always felt like the focus was on the money rather than the care. Twice, we were even told we were nearing the end with one of our cats—and yet, here we are years later with happy, mostly healthy kiddos! Then we found Coal Creek! The team at Coal Creek is exceptional. Erika is always warm and helpful when answering the phone and quick to respond to emails. Ami and Ashley are wonderful with the cats—we love how they accommodate them in their carriers and even sit on the floor with them - it's so sweet! The entire staff is incredibly organized, handling everything from managing visit schedules to coordinating with CSU for specialized testing for our kitties with cancer. We’re so grateful for the care and dedication you provide and will continue to trust you with our pets and refer you to other people who want top-notch veterinary care. We cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care and support we’ve received from Coal Creek Animal Hospital. Our journey with our dog, Rowan, has been anything but easy. She has struggled with severe anxiety and a history of serious medical issues, including a life-threatening case of pneumonia in March 2024 that nearly took her from us at only two years old. Before finding Coal Creek, we had difficulty navigating her care—some clinics dismissed our concerns, and we felt unheard and frustrated. But in April 2024, when we attended a high-anxiety session at Coal Creek, everything changed. The moment we walked in (after 45 minutes of coaxing Rowan to even enter), we were met with kindness, patience, and an entirely different approach to animal care. Dr. Ami and Ashley introduced us to cooperative care techniques, giving us tools to help Rowan feel safe and in control of her medical experiences. With their guidance, we committed to a structured plan, starting with twice-monthly visits in May 2024. Slowly, with patience, training, and the team’s unwavering support, Rowan made remarkable progress: August 2024 – She received her first vaccine at Coal Creek (an oral vaccine). October 2024 – She was able to receive two more vaccines via shots. January 2025 – For the first time, she consented to a blood draw. The transformation in Rowan’s life, and in ours, has been nothing short of remarkable. When we first got Rowan, she was so reactive she couldn’t even go outside due to her high anxiety. Now, we can take her on walks, play games, and bring her to the vet for care that she willingly participates in. Beyond the exceptional care, the clinic itself is designed with animals in mind. The large windows that let in natural light, and soft-colored walls create a calming environment that makes a difference for anxious pets like Rowan. Every detail of the space is intentional, reinforcing that this is a place where animals’ well-being comes first. Coal Creek isn’t just a veterinary clinic—it’s a place where animals and their families are truly understood and supported.
