Saugstad/Royer Park Trail

on or off a trail that runs along the creek.. lots of wildlife to see can the new cirby edition is opening soon..

Don't care for the parks themselves, but it's my closest entry for miles and miles of beautifully paved trails along the creek.

Nice, easy, flat-ish trail by the Dry Creek (which hasn't seemed all that dry the last 2 yrs) so make sure to peek and watch the baby ducklings. They're so cute! Took the pupper, Queen Diva, Miss Athena for a walk; well, she did the walking whereas I was on roller skates. Mostly in the sun, with a few scattered tree areas toward the trailhead with couple of benches should you want to sit for a spell. Pups should be leashed until you get to the dog park across from the ball fields. Big fenced off area in an L shape where Miss-A loves to sniff everything and check her "p-mail." Been here a few times this year, and so far it's been pretty clean. Usually stocked with bags for clean up, in case you forget. I've also walked this trail by myself a few times and haven't unsafe. I usually exit the trail on Douglas though, so can't vouch for the rest. But, I can definitely guarantee we'll be back, though it might have to wait until the weather drops under 100° again, much to the puppers chagrin.

My wife and I used to love to walk the dogs here but not so much anymore. The homeless and drug addicts are all over the park. They lay all over the place and set up camps under the bridges. They have a security guard who harasses them but they just move around. It's too bad, people bring their children there and have to deal with that.

Very nice trail alongside dry creek. Also passes through a few parks and then leads to the Miners Ravine trail.
