(from Google)This review is for boarding, which I will absolutely never do again. As a warning, if you have any doubts at all, don’t take your dog here. The high stars are baffling to me, but after more digging, the score seems to be overweighted by people satisfied with their grooming services. Background: I took my spry, but relatively chill twenty-lb, nine-year-old dog here for seven days, seeing that they had such high reviews. He gets along well with dogs and kids, loves walks and food, and always plucks up energy no matter how tired he is. In the past, boarding has never been an issue. This was my first time boarding him in Nashville. The trial day seemed to go okay, but after picking him up from boarding, he came back incredibly depressed and changed. The past few days, he’s not been excited by food, and he’s acting timidly, though starved for any sort of affection. I’ve had him for nine years, and he’s never been like this. I have an upcoming dental surgery for him on Monday and am honestly questioning whether he can handle the procedure mental-health-wise. I feel terrible for already putting him through the stress of Camp Bow Wow. While he was boarding, the manager kept in touch as I saw some glaring red flags before leaving him, but I thought maybe this method is good for dogs (?) as again, very high reviews. I wanted a real tour before leaving him as they didn’t let my husband go back there during the trial run. When I walked through, it was overwhelmingly LOUD (like Apple Watch saying decibels are too loud high). There were a few private suites, all booked we were told. That enough made me anxious. I asked if it was particularly busy, and they said it gets busier. They have cameras pointed at the yards, which honestly were the one thing not making me turn around and postpone my trip. There is a 1:~35 human-to-dog ratio in small concrete enclosures and tiny adjoined outdoor spaces. At a “less busy” time, the yards were definitely too crowded for me. I asked if he could be out with the bigger dogs as there were fewer (no, its size only) and was concerned by the amount of humping he was doing when I looked in (apparently not a grounds for dismissal, though I’m guessing that’s why an existing wart was bleeding from his head after a scuffle). The manager informed me of the bleeding, and we thought, maybe just rough playing. Good to get energy out, and now he can calm down in his quarters. However, looking back, the humping meant that they were regularly yanking him off other dogs and then isolating him in his quarters to calm him down. I’m concerned by the frequency and duration of time he was back there alone, trapped in noise. The behavior stands out as a distress sign to me. What was meant to be a fun experience for him became really traumatizing. I really am mad at myself for not listening to my gut.
We dropped our mini Aussie off for 2 days of daycare and a bath while we were visiting. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the facility was clean and inviting. Sully had a great time and came back happy and exhausted after his playtime with his furry friends. Thank you Camp Bow Wow for prioviding just great care for our fur baby. Would recommend and will be bringing Sully back when we are back in town.
TREY HEALY IS AN EXCELLENT GROOMER!!! I have been bringing my Beloved rescue Pomeranian to him Monthly for a bath and grooming. I have been VERY HAPPY with his Work Each and Every Time!! Trey is WONDERFUL with my sometimes anxious pom. He really does LOVE my boy, and my boy LOVES him right back!! I COULDN'T ASK FOR BETTER CUSTOMER CARE, OR FOR A MORE SKILLED DOG GROOMER!!! I know other dog owners who LOVE Trey's Grooming Work, Too!! TREY IS TRULY THE BEST!!!
We recently took both of our dogs to Camp Bow Wow Nashville for their first interview and a two-night boarding stay, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The entire interview process was simple to schedule, clearly explained, and handled with such professionalism. My pups immediately loved the staff, the facility, and all the other dogs, and they truly made themselves right at home. As a naturally worrisome dog mom, I was nervous about leaving them overnight with people they didn’t know yet. However, the live camera access gave me constant peace of mind, and I could see firsthand how well they were being cared for. The staff treated my pups like their own, and that meant everything to me. We will absolutely be returning for all future boarding stays and for doggy day care whenever we can. The pricing is fair, the care is exceptional, and most importantly, my pups had a blast. Thank you, Camp Bow Wow Nashville! (Pic of my pups snoozing SO HARD after their interview/free day)
