My first visit here, I'm a regular at the anne Denver park. Its a lot smaller and there was a woman with a megaphone announcing when a dog pooped even if the owner was actively getting it. Happened every time, kinda weird. Otherwise the fence area is about one acre for each small and large dogs separated by a 4 foot fence.

I think it's the nicest dog park I have ever been to, except for the off leash doggie Beach at Brohard, Venice FL.

The dogs are safe and secure at this two fenced in dog park, small and large dog play areas. It is well maintained with running water supplied as you enter the double gates. The people who bring their dogs here are the nicest people ❤️. The park is maintained by Wellen Park's landscaping crew and the potty stations are cleaned regularly. No bugs, 90% grass that is mowed and no red ants or fire ants. Unless you want to be jumped on and pestered by everything's dog, keep the treats at home or in your car. If you don't want to lose your dog's favorite sqeaky ball, leave it home or in the car. Benches with umbrellas are laid out in 3 corners, but it is best to go at sunrise and just before sunset to escape the brutal heat and sun of SW Florida. No bathrooms on sight but plenty of walking paths with trees so use your imagination but have a look out for alligators and coyotes and boar.

The park itself is nice and seems to be well maintained but getting in and out is a nightmare. The construction traffic on river road is bad enough but now that drivers don't know how to use turn signals so you have no idea if they're turning left, right or going straight it's a nightmare.

Many dog lovers enjoy coming to the park. We watch out for each other and our dogs. There are three sets of benches to sit on what umbrellas shading them different times of the day. A very nice park I would recommend.
