St. Pete Dog Works

I cannot say enough great things about St. Pete Dog Works, Heather, and Debbie. Heather was very responsive and extremely helpful. I was staying in the Gulfport area for 1.5 months and had a short timeline for training. Heather answered all my questions, and assigned me to Debbie - who's excellent. First, Debbie was gracious to work me into an already busy schedule. And I'm so glad she could. She is the best trainer for both my dog, Nola (3.5 year old schnoodle) and myself. Debbie taught both of us so much in such a short time and I saw immediate results with Nola. As with any training there's progression and regression; however, Debbie really helped me understand my role and not to get too down on myself when we had some regression. Debbie also listened to me about what I wanted from Nola, where we were with behaviors, and then showed me each week how to effectively train Nola with commands, marker training, and positive reinforcement. The videos and follow-up notes were also helpful. We will be incorporating another dog into the family this year, and I will be booking Debbie immediately for training sessions.

Our puppy Earl just graduated from puppy foundations. We loved Rachel as an instructor. She was very helpful to all of the new parents with different dogs! She gave one on one attention and also ideas on how to handle individual issues with our dogs. He also attends puppy daycare and has learned even more commands. I highly recommend her and all of the trainers.

We were referred to St. Pete Dog Works, and specifically to Rachel, after working with Dr. Edwards at Tampa Veterinary Behavior, and we had a great experience. I have two dogs and came in with very specific goals, and Rachel was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful in her approach. From the initial consultation through each session, Rachel consistently impressed me with her ability to observe and accurately interpret my dogs’ behaviors. After every session, she provided a clear summary and practical “homework,” which helped me stay accountable and continue making progress at home. The training was fully customized to our needs and lifestyle, and after six sessions we’ve seen meaningful progress. I would highly recommend Rachel and St. Pete Dog Works.

I’ve been bringing my puppy, Vicente, to the puppy class at St. Pete Dog Works, and it’s been such a wonderful experience. The training has been incredibly useful. Not only have I learned techniques to help with my puppy’s personality, but also how to handle situations as an owner. Heather is amazing! She’s patient, kind, and makes sure everyone in the class gets equal attention, which I really appreciate. Vicente absolutely loves going to class. He gets so excited the moment he sees the building! You can tell he feels comfortable and happy there, and that says everything about the environment Heather creates. Vicente is on his way to becoming a service dog, and thanks to Heather and St. Pete Dog Works, we’re getting closer and closer to that goal every day. I couldn’t recommend them more!

My little guy just finished a puppy manners class with Heather and it was a great experience! Heather was fantastic and comes highly recommended for training dogs of all ages. She was informative and patient with all the puppy chaos in class and presented the lessons in a fun and interactive way. My furbaby has learned so much in just a few weeks and so have I!! I feel I have new helpful tools to further train my pup on my own and I certainly plan to sign up for another class soon. St. Pete Dog Works was a wonderful facility to visit. It was a clean and comfortable training space with a pet store attached. There were high quality food, treat and toy options to choose from. All your dog/cat needs in one convenient place!
