Nice park. Some winters it is flooded to provide an ice skating area.

Always pretty during the winter at night. They do a great job of lighting the train.

Great little park for the kids... A good amount of stuff to play on with slides and swings and standard park goodies. Nice area for a park, and right across the street from the library. Also,in the summer the water park is next door and down a block or so is the train park. We had a great time ❤️

A beautiful park with 2 play structures (one gated for little kids) in downtown Lawrence! I love that it is very kid friendly--pesticide free, baby & regular swings, picnic benches/tables, a basketball court, and lots of room to run. I love that the playground has rubber ground instead of the tanbark or sand or little tire pieces (babies just pick them up and eat them). There aren't any bathrooms except for in the pool area or across the street at the library. My daughter loves it here and she is only 12 months old.

This park is amazing. It has everything one could ask for. It has tables, for parents, and lots of play equipment for kids. Lots of adults even play on the equipment with their kids, because its unlike other basic playground equipment. They have giant climbing webs, spinning buckets that you can sit in and spin, swings with circlular seats, and more. The story behind the parks name is amazing, too, and worth taking the time to read. Overall, I give this park four stars. The lack of a water fountain kind of ruined it for me, with screaming kids begging for water.
