(from Google)Excellent care!!
I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience at Olympus Dog Training. I enrolled my puppy, in their board-and-train program, which ended up lasting almost a month—well beyond the 2 to 3 weeks initially suggested. Despite the extra time, she came back with zero noticeable improvement. Before sending her, I made it clear that she already knew basic commands like “sit” and “down.” After weeks away, not only had she not progressed, but I had to re-teach her the basics myself within days of her return. During our follow-up session, I was told she might “give a little trouble with the place command”—but she didn’t understand it at all. What’s worse is that I missed nearly a month of my dog’s puppyhood expecting she’d return with a solid obedience foundation. Instead, it feels like that time was wasted, and I’m left with nothing to show for the money I spent. I asked for a refund due to the lack of results and was told no—despite my dog actually being worse off than before. Save your time, money, and your dog’s development—this was a frustrating and heartbreaking experience from start to finish. *UPDATE* my dog now has ticks from this lovely establishment. As well as an eye infection. By the way, you’re most certainly right I said why would I possibly want your offer of two free classes. It doesn’t take rocket science to see why I would say that. If you had a month to work with her all day, who in their right mind would think two hours extra is going to do a thing?! The jokes write themselves. Also, it’s ironic you replying that it’s 50/50 and insinuated I didn’t train her. She was trained better before I dropped her off for 26 days. I taught her more commands in a week that she mastered than you could in nearly a month. And you’re supposed to be professionals. What a joke. Now she’s peeing in her crate, something she NEVER did when I dropped her off. She was only fed once in the morning with an insane portion size. She was sitting and doing down perfectly fine when I left her, which I said to you. Now, she doesn’t know the difference between the two. Not only was she not trained, but she got significantly worse. If I could give it negative stars, I would. When I went to get her, the establishment smelt like death. You could smell it from the street in your car. Disgusting. One star is too much. Please everyone, do not let your pet go here if you care about them. Learn from all the terrible reviews you’ve already read and don’t psych yourself into thinking it’s ok based off the good ones. You couldn’t pay me to let her stay there again.
*UPDATE with pictures. I'm looking into legal action for animal abuse* I just discovered the shock collar Olympus used opened serious wounds on my dog's neck. (German Shepherds have significant extra skin and hair around their neck and she's been very active so we didn't notice it right away) I now know why my dogs were both visibly shaken in the trainor's presence. This place is basically a torture chamber in disguise of a training facility. Pros: - Longer available accommodation than most places - Daily IG stories and occasional pics for updates - Dariel is very helpful and kind Cons: - Not responsive to concerned emails or calls during the stay (Especially about medication, training progress, etc.) - Shock collar reliant training (which was not clearly explained before the stay). My dog was visibly shaky and scared in trainors' presence which has never happened before. - Over-filled, small premises. (I later realized they try to minimize this with filters on IG stories, but it was too late) - Messy, lengthy check-out / graduation process (They left my dog unleashed and she ran into street with traffic. Thankfully traffic stopped) - No clear explanation ahead of time about the check-out / graduation process (So clients can prepare accordingly, especially after long travel) Overall I'm really disappointed and won't ever leave my dogs with them again. They clearly have a communication issue on explaining their services and processes. I'll be booking Centro de Varona again ahead of time. (They were fully booked this time so I gave Olympus a try)
Honestly the best place in town. Above and beyond They do care about the dogs and their well being. If you are looking to train your dog this is the place.
We experienced a very unfortunate situation in this place. Our dog stayed for boarding and training for a couple of weeks here. Although training results were ok, the dog came out of here with 4 different health situations as certified by her vet: right eye ulcer cause by trauma, trauma in her right interior thigh (where hair will grow no more), atopic dermatitis and intestinal parasites (she didn't had and was medicated for this right before she went to boarding there). In order to take care of all these medical situations, we spent over $400 and the management did nothing to support or respond to us as we share with them these situations. Their contract stipulates that they will contact pet owners to inform them about any medical situation or emergency, but they never contacted us during her stay there. Moreover, they promised to call us to give us weekly updates of her training and they never did this, I was the one calling to check on how she was doing. I will never recommend this place to anyone and hope they change the environment and treatment of dogs that stay there. I also hope they can grow on better customer service and empathy with their clients. Still after 1 month all this took place, our dog is still suffering the consequences of the health situations she experienced there and as of today we have received no communication from the management after sending them more than 3 letters and text messages. We really hope this doesn't happen to any more dogs on the Island.
