It’s beautiful but confusing. Bring gps. Luckily it’s small so if you get lost you’ll just end up in a field or on a road quickly. What impressed me is the wooden pathways. We went on a wet day and parts of the trails flood but were mostly covered by the wooden pathways. I’d give it 5 stars if the trails were more clearly marked. Great short trip for families.

"This historic trail dates back to Daniel Ricketson’s residence in the 1800’s. We know that Ricketson cut out paths in the woods in October of 1855.  You can walk the same trails that Henry David Thoreau would have walked while visiting Ricketson." - New Bedford Parks Recreation and Beaches I love this trail! A community of volunteers help to maintain this trail. The unique habitats support specific animals and plants. In the wetlands are jack-in-the-pulpit, Swamp Beacon fungus, Cinnamon ferns, and Indian pipe plants. the wet meadow with its wide variety of flowers and plants supports pollinators and butterflies. Black swallowtail butterfly, and viceroy butterfly are 2 of many i have seen here. This property allows mountain biking, dog walking, and the yellow, orange, and green perimiter trail are relativity flat and easy for young children, elderly, or a sturdy stroller to travel across. Since the paths are relativity flat It's a nice place to go snow shoeing in the winter. The volunteers keep this trail in great shape by by building bridges, benches, and keeping the trails clean and free of debris. As for any outdoor space Dress accordingly for poison ivy, And protect yourself against mosquitoes and ticks.
