(from Google)We brought our dog here for his first day and watched the webcam, only to see him roaming alone in a separate room while a few other dogs were crated. When I called, a staff member explained that he was shaking and scared and they were trying to help him acclimate. I asked how long he would be alone and was told about an hour, or until another staff member could come in because the front desk also needed coverage. I asked if we should pick him up and try again another day, but was told they couldn’t guarantee he would receive much individualized attention or care—so neither option felt reassuring for a nervous puppy. We made a mistake thinking we should give it another try the following day. We dropped him off for about 3.5 hours but were charged for a full day (this was refunded after a few emails). After about 3 hours, we received a text saying they were closing soon and hoped we were on our way because our dog had an upset stomach incident. He was clearly stressed, so we picked him up right away. To be fair, he did get some good playtime with other dogs and the staff supervising the playroom seemed fine. However, communication at the front desk felt a bit unclear at times. We were also told our promised 10% discount hadn’t been applied and that the manager would need to fix it, which added to the confusion. We shared an honest review based on our first experience. We understand daycare environments are busy and challenging, and we appreciate that staff care about the dogs. Ultimately, the setup wasn’t the right fit for our anxious pup. We wish the team the best and hope they continue improving communication for new clients.
Lucky Dog has been organjzed and helpful to us over a few years. Most importantly, our cattle dog seems to enjoy (or at least not dread 😬) her stays as she has elsewhere. High marks.
I have not been to Lucky Dog in awhile since we moved further away. I brought in my senior dog for grooming and we had a very attentive and accommodating experience. She looks great!
My doodle dog has been coming to Lucky Dog once a week for 3 years. He comes home tired and happy. The staff have gotten to know me and my dog and understand his quirky personality. My dog looks forward to going to daycare, and I know he’s well cared for.
Our Teddy Lasso has been going to Lucky Dog Retreat daycare every Wednesday since he was 6 months old (nearly 5 years ago). We board him here when we go out of town, too. The staff is welcoming and wonderful -- we've never had a problem. Teddy always gets excited when we remind him it's a "Lucky Dog Day!" We've had luck with grooming too. They do a great job. Thanks, Lucky Dog staff, for taking such good care of our little guy!
